=S K A Z K A - =Kitten and ball. Wool story=

The balls were in a box on the chest of drawers. The chest of drawers is tall, higher than the table. But, if first - on a stool, then - on a chair, then - on a table, then it’s not so far to the chest of drawers. You just need to jump harder, pushing off with your hind legs and stretching your tail...
The kitten was strictly forbidden to play with balls. Actually, climbing on the table and chest of drawers is the same. And many other things were forbidden to the kitten. But! The severity of human laws is redeemed by the optionality of their implementation. The kitten understood this back in those days when he was lying in the basket in which he was brought to the apartment.
Dad put the basket in the corner of the large room, and everyone came running to look at the furry baby curled up at the bottom. A smaller boy, a larger girl, a mother, and a grandmother. Some others came, but these were always there.
The first thing the kitten heard was that kittens should not be put in the nightstand with toys. This was already clear to the kitten, but for some reason, not to the boy. The fact that kittens are not dressed in doll dresses was also quite clear to the kitten. But the girl did not want to agree with this. Therefore, it often happened that a kitten would spend some time, before the arrival of dad, mom or grandma, in a box, among teddy bears and hares, dressed in a sundress and a cap.
However, it was still tolerable. But he didn’t like washing at all, and tried to avoid it by all available means, even to the point of cowardly desertion under the sofa.
Generally speaking, the kitten was a fairly independent creature. I didn’t complain, even if there was someone. Dad, for example. It was safer with dad nearby. But it’s more boring. His newspaper rustled very temptingly, but it was impossible to touch it. It was especially warm and cozy on mom’s lap. But for some reason her dresses and sweaters clung to her already grown claws. And mom didn’t really like it.
Grandmother... Perhaps grandmother had no shortcomings, except for some painful love of order. Everything had to be in its place.
Well, the papers are on dad’s desk – we can still agree with that. Mom's manicure supplies. Tube of toothpaste in the bathroom.
But the rustling papers from the trash can! No, their place is only in the corner, under the sofa. Or - under the table.
The grandmother grumbled, sweeping up the garbage scattered here and there, but did not offend the kitten. Even when he once dropped her glasses from the table.
...This morning everyone except grandma went about their business. Some go to work, some go to kindergarten, some go to school. Grandma was busy in the kitchen, and the entire living room, down to the very last chair, was at the disposal of the furry prankster.
First of all, he examined the contents of the basket. It turned out to be not interesting at all. A couple of empty envelopes did not rustle very much. Just in case, the kitten put them under the sofa. They'll come in handy later.
Further. Pillows on the sofa. They were already familiar with his paws. After playing a little with the tassels in the corners, the kitten grabbed the red rooster on the largest pillow by the tail. The rooster did not answer, and it was not interesting.
Further. Chair. Table. Shrinking into a small gray spring, the kitten jumped and flew onto the chest of drawers. Almost. Luckily, on the chest of drawers lay a large napkin embroidered by my grandmother in her youth and stood a large heavy flat vase. The claws of the front paws grabbed the edge of the napkin, and the rest was a matter of technique.
And now the long-awaited goal is nearby. The kitten arched its back, extended its tail like a pipe and carefully, sideways, approached, or rather even jumped, to a round cardboard box with balls of wool painted with flowers.
The tangles seemed to be sleeping. They've probably never seen kittens. Or they were just pretending, but in fact, they were hiding in order to jump out at the right moment.
The kitten carefully, with its paw, touched the outermost, gray, large ball, like itself. The ball silently moved away and pressed itself against its colorful comrades. The kitten pushed him harder. A gray woolen thread hanging over the edge of the box suddenly twisted and clung to the kitten’s paw. The kitten waved its paw - the thread did not come off. On the contrary, she completely impudently wrapped herself around her paw and got entangled in her claws.
Guard! The kitten jumped back and made the most brutal look he could muster. But his hair standing on end, his tail and mustache sticking out in all directions did not make any impression on the ball. The kitten jumped forward and grabbed the ball with its front paws, while pushing it with its hind paws. The ball jumped up and - WHAM! - flew from the chest of drawers down to the floor. At the last moment, the ball managed to pull the thread and the kitten also flew down. Following him - and the whole box.
Landing on all fours, which had already begun running like an arrow in flight, and slightly ahead of the box that crashed nearby, the kitten skidded a little in place on the slippery bag, then rushed under the table. Gray is behind him. The kitten under the sofa is gray behind it. Under the chest of drawers...
The knitting needle, which the grandmother had stuck into the ball and which prevented the thread from unwinding, clanged as it fell to the floor.
The kitten rushed off, not making out the way. Tangle seemed to have fallen behind, but his long tail, or paw, or something else, very dangerous, did not let go of the kitten, following him. Several times the kitten came across both the gray ball itself and its colorful friends. He pushed them away, snorting, trying to scare them. ..
...When grandma returned from the kitchen, the living room looked as if a giant spider had covered it all with its multi-colored web. Grandma gasped, grabbed her heart, and almost sat down past her chair. Fortunately, all the other inhabitants of this apartment soon arrived.
The evening was spent unraveling the woolen lace. It was a pity to simply cut the threads with scissors - the wool was strong, warm - real, from the village - from my grandmother's sister.
The most interesting thing is that the kitten was found in the corner, under the chest of drawers, sleeping in a painted cardboard box, hugging the smallest ball.
Then the grandmother knitted mittens and hats for the boy and girl from this wool and many other useful warm things. The kitten grew up and became an almost adult cat - no joke - almost a year old. But every time, sneaking along the corridor and noticing gray fluffy animals on the shelf under the hanger, the kitten, just in case, arched its back, showing with all its appearance that it was not at all afraid of its long-time offender, even who had taken the form of such harmless objects. (Slavitsky Ilya)

This morning I woke up before everyone else, because today my birthday. My mother came into my room first and kissed me, warning me that after school a wonderful surprise and many guests would await me.

At breakfast, my father hugged me and wished me a happy birthday, saying that he was proud to have such a good son like me.

The lessons went by very quickly. At school, classmates and teachers congratulated me on the holiday and wished me success in my studies. After classes, I hurried home to see what gifts were waiting for me.

The most wonderful gift for me was a small fluffy kitten. I immediately gave him the nickname Kuzya. The fluffy black lump tirelessly ran around the rooms and played with all the objects, which made us very happy.

My grandmother Vera left her knitting near the TV. While we were sitting at the festive table, Kuzya jumped onto the bedside table near the TV and threw the bag of balls onto the floor. Frightened, he hid and began to watch the ball of thread roll. Then Kuzya carefully touched the ball with his paw and it rolled, unwinding the thread. This amused the kitten, and he began to actively roll the ball on the floor.

When we entered the room, we saw an interesting picture. The kitten completely unwound the ball and became entangled in the wool threads. Kuzya tried hard to free himself and at the same time became angry and made hissing sounds. Somehow we managed to untangle it, and the cute kitten happily jumped into another room in search of new adventures.

At night, when everyone went to bed, I took Kuzya to bed with me, and together we saw sweet dreams until the morning.

This is how my friendship with Kuzya began and continues to this day. And the kitten also loves to interfere with grandma’s knitting, getting tangled in the threads and rolling balls of thread across the floor.
