Crochet skirt for girls: diagrams and descriptions, master classes. Crochet for children (skirts) How to knit a beautiful long skirt

I saw this wonderful skirt from a craftswoman Olga Verenich . She knitted this product from thread “Successful pekhorka” (50 gr./220 m.), for ages 4-5 years, hook No. 1.5, consumption of 4 skeins of thread (total 200 gr.).

I knitted my skirt from thread “CoCo” (vita cotton) - 50 g/240 m, for ages 6-7 years, consumption 6 skeins (main color - 300 g) and 1 skein (white color - 50 g), hook No. 1, 5.

1.Getting started: It is necessary to tie the belt around the hips. 1 rub.: We knit a “pigtail” of 17 air loops, 3 ch. for lifting; turning the work around. 2 rubles: We knit a double crochet (st. s/n) 4 ch from the hook, then knit 1 tbsp into each air loop of the “braid” to the end. s/n. It should be 17 tbsp. s/n; * 3 v.p. for lifting; turn the work. 3 rubles: We knit 1 double crochet in each double crochet of the bottom row. * Repeat from * Knit like this until you get a belt of the required length (diagram 1).

2. We connect the resulting belt. I crocheted my belt without breaking the working thread, half double crochet. To do this, I folded the edges of the product together with the right sides facing each other. Next, insert the hook into the loops of both parts, grab the working thread and pull it through both loops, while maintaining minimal tension. So we knit from the edge to the end of the other edge. Then the working thread was not broken.

3. Now we knit the fillet mesh from the waistband.

1 rub.: 3rd century p. for lifting, 1 in. p., 1 tbsp. s/n at the base of the belt (between double crochets), again 1 st. p., 1 tbsp. s/n at the base of the belt, and so on until the end of the row. We connect each row with a connecting loop; 2 r. - 7 rubles: 3rd century p. for lifting, 1 in. p., 1 tbsp. s/n in a double crochet of the bottom row and so on until the end of each row (see diagram 2.).

8 rubles: In this row we make an increase every 10 sts. s/n, knit an additional 1 tbsp. s/n and 1 vp (diagram 3).

We will knit ruffles for each such row. The length of the fillet mesh depends on how many rows of ruffle you need.

My skirt consists of 5 rows of ruffle, i.e. 1-. I knitted a ruffle from the edge of the waistband, the 2nd ruffle from the 8th row of the fillet mesh, the 3rd ruffle from the 16th row of the mesh, the 4th ruffle from the 24th row of the mesh, the 5th ruffle from the 32nd row (last) of the mesh. Accordingly, the addition in the fillet mesh was made in 8, 16, 24 rows, except for the 32nd row (the last one). In the first ruffle there were 38 reports, in the second there were 43 rapports, in the third ruffle there were 47 rapports, and in the fourth and fifth ruffles there were 52 reports each.

4. After the mesh is knitted, we begin knitting the ruffles. We knit the first ruffle from the edge of the belt (pattern 4).

We knit the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th ruffles from the fillet mesh - from those rows where we made the addition and from the last row of the mesh (diagram 5).

Each ruffle consists of seven rows. I knitted the 6th and 7th row with white thread. This is of course according to your desire and imagination.

5. Now we need to take a hat elastic (slightly less than the circumference of the hips), sew its edges and, using a binding, attach it to the top of the belt. I took the hat elastic to match the color of the main thread, and tied it with white thread alternating 2 tbsp. b/n at the base of the belt with 1 tbsp. b/n.

6. Once our skirt is knitted, let's start decorating. Need to link 4 openwork stripes (loop loops) under the strap. I also knitted them with white thread.

Beginning of work: we knit a “pigtail” from 3 vp, 3 vp. lifting, turning the work, * knit 1 tbsp. s/n in the next two air loops “braids”; again 3 ch. lifting, turning the work.* Repeat from * 6 more times. There should be a total of 7 rows from the st. s/n. Now, without tearing off the working thread, make 3 ch. rise and knit in a circle into arches (see diagram 6).

7. We attach belt loops to the waistband of our skirt. It is necessary to iron the skirt, preferably through a waffle towel. Next, take a satin ribbon of the required length, thread it through the belt loops, and make a bow.

8. If the satin ribbon is not processed, then you need to do the following: 1) Take a board (wooden cutting board). 2) Take a knife (which you don’t mind) and heat it over the fire (on the stove - burner). 3) Place one edge of the satin ribbon on the board and carefully trim the edge with a hot knife (preferably with a quick movement so as not to leave yellow or black spots on the ribbon). We also process the other edge of the tape.

That's all - our skirt is ready.

Children whose mothers and grandmothers know how to do needlework are real lucky ones, because they can wear beautiful clothes created by caring, loving hands. Besides, no one else in the world has such things. Hand-sewn and knitted items are also a budget-friendly way to update a child’s wardrobe.

In today's article we will tell you how to crochet a skirt for a girl. An openwork skirt will be a wonderful summer gift for your little fashionista. We will introduce you to various ways of knitting children's skirts, and also give you some recommendations on how and with what it is best to wear such things.

Knitting popular patterns

To create light, summer skirts with intricate patterns, a crochet hook is more suitable. It is better to leave knitting needles for thicker, winter items - warm dresses, sweaters, etc. We invite you to get acquainted with two interesting models of skirts for girls that can be crocheted. Knitting patterns are quite simple, so even a novice needlewoman can master them.

Zigzag

“Zigzag” is one of the most beautiful and popular patterns in the crochet technique. It looks especially impressive when knitted from threads of different colors, so to create this model it is recommended to use yarn of several shades.

To knit a skirt with a zigzag pattern for a girl of primary school age you will need:

  • several skeins of bright thread (it is better to choose 100% cotton);
  • hook No. 1;
  • scissors;
  • pin for marking rows.

To determine the required amount of yarn, we recommend that you first knit a small sample - this way you can understand how many threads are used for a given pattern and approximately calculate the required number of skeins. Then you can start directly working on the skirt.

In the instructions for creating the pattern, we used the following abbreviations:

  • “VP” – air loop;
  • “Runway” – air lift loop;
  • “Dc” – double crochet;
  • “SS2N” – double crochet stitch;
  • “SBN” – single crochet;
  • “SS” – connecting post.

We knit the product in the round, moving from bottom to top. The number of stitches in the cast-on row should be divisible by 17.

I row: 3 runways, 4 dc with one top, (5 dc, 5 dc with a common base, 5 dc, 5 dc with one top), repeat the points in brackets, finish row 1 dc;

II row: 1 runway, then knit sc to the end of the row, finishing row 1 SS.

Next, we knit each odd row as I, and each even row as II. Every 2 rows we change the color of the threads. Having knitted 18 rows, the next row needs to be knitted, making decreases, since here we will begin to form the waist for the skirt. We make decreases like this: instead of 5 dcs with a common base, we knit 3 dcs with a common base. Then we knit 1 dc instead of 3 dc with yarn of a different shade. We decrease the loops along the edges, one on each side. Next, we knit one row of dc in the round. The next row is RLS. Then repeat the last two rows five times. Finally, we knit 5 rows of sc in the round. We fasten the thread, hide the tail and cut it.

A zigzag knitted skirt for a girl is ready!

Tiered skirt

Your little princess will definitely love this fluffy, lace, crocheted skirt. To make the skirt voluminous, we suggest you knit several tiers of frills. To work you will need thin cotton threads and a hook No. 1.5. If you wish, you can knit a plain or multi-colored skirt. In the latter case, you will need yarn in 2 or 4 different shades. In addition to the hook and thread, you will need a thin elastic band to match - with its help we can make the waistband of the product more elastic. The knitting pattern we present below is designed for a skirt for a 4 or 5 year old child.

The skirt belt will be knitted using the fillet lace technique. We cast on 18 VP, then knit a dc and close the row into a ring. Next we knit: 1 dc, 2 ch to the end of the row. In every 8th loop we knit an increase according to the pattern: Dc, 2 ch, dc. How fluffy the skirt will be depends on how many increments you make. We knit 16 rows in this way. After completing work on the fillet mesh, without breaking the thread, we proceed to creating the first tier of the skirt.

I row: 3 runway, 2 dc from the same base, (2 ch, skip 2 loops, 5 dc), continue knitting points in brackets, complete the row with 2 dc, which we knit into the first loop of the row, then knit 1 dc into the third runway.

II row: 3 VP, 2 VP, 1 Dc from the same base, 2 Dc, (3 VP, 2 Dc in the next two Dcs, go to the third of the five Dcs of the previous row and knit a Dc, VP, Dc into it, then knit into the next Dcs 1 dc each), repeat the items in brackets until the end of the row, completing row 2 dc and dc.

III row: 4 runways (in an arch of 2 VPs we knit 3 СС2Н, 2 VP, 3 СС2Н, then in an arch of 2 VP we knit 1 RLS, we skip the next 2 SSNs, in the third SSN we knit 1 СС2Н), repeat the points in brackets until the end of the row, we complete Row 3 SS.

IV row:(2 СС2Н, in an arch of 2 VP we knit 3 СС2Н, 2 VP, 3 СС2Н, then we knit 2 СС2Н, skip 5 loops), we repeat the points in brackets until the end of the row, we complete the row 2 СС.

V row:(3 СС2Н, in an arch of 2 VP we knit 3 СС2Н, 2 VP, 3 СС2Н, then we knit 3 СС2Н, skip 4 loops), we repeat the points in brackets until the end of the row, we complete row 1 СС.

VI row:(3 СС2Н in an arch of 2 VP we knit 2 СС2Н, 5 VP, 2 СС2Н, then we knit 2 VP), we repeat the points in brackets until the end of the row, we replace the 1st СС2Н with 4 VP, we complete the row 3 СС.

VII row:(1 runway, knit picot 4 times + 2 sc, 1 sc, skip 5 ch), repeat points in brackets until the end of the row, complete row 1 SS.

We knit the second tier of the skirt in the same way in the 1st row of fillet lace, and the third tier in the 8th row.

A multi-tiered children's skirt can be decorated at the waist with a wide satin ribbon. For the ribbon we knit beautiful openwork harnesses.

The first seven rows consist of 3 dc each. Then you need to knit these rows, moving from left to right. The posts and lifting loops in this case will represent arches for knitting. We tie the rows like this: 3 runways, 3 dc, 1 sc in the side loop of the sixth row, 6 sc in the side loop of the fifth row, 1 sc in the side loop of the fourth row, 6 sc in the base of the column of the third row, 1 sc in the second row, 3 dc in the first row. In the end part we knit 6 dc, then move to the side part. We knit 3 dc, 1 sc, 6 dc, 1 sc, 6 dc, 1 sc, 3 dc, and in the upper part we knit 5 dc. We finish knitting 1 SS in the third PP.

Features of knitting skirts for girls. Schemes, descriptions and photos of finished products.

I want to dress up girls like princesses. And it doesn’t make much difference what age they are. For mom and dad, a daughter always remains a daughter.

However, a needlework mother can easily create unique knitted items, such as skirts, with her own hands and a positive mood.

There are many types of them, as well as yarn colors. Therefore, you will definitely choose the best model for your baby.

Let's talk in more detail about the nuances of knitting children's skirts.

How to calculate the number of loops for a children's skirt with knitting needles by age?

ready-made knitted skirt for a girl - calculation of loops

  • Babies under 3 years old do not have a waistline as such. Instead, you see a slightly protruding tummy. Therefore, consider attaching the skirt with high straps over the shoulder - in the form of a sundress.
  • Take measurements on the girl - waist, hips and skirt length. Add 1-2 cm to the hips measurement for growth and for the comfort of wearing the skirt. Write it down in a notepad.
  • Decide on the product model. If you are a beginner craftswoman, master knitting an a-line skirt. It will be a win-win option for a girl of any age.
  • Draw it with the parameters indicated in centimeters. However, for young ladies, straight or flared options are optimal.
  • Select a pattern and elastic band, knit control samples. For kids, cast on 30-40 stitches, for an adult girl - 50.
  • Wash and let the samples dry. Take measurements based on a square of 1x1 cm or 10x10 cm. The second option is relevant if you plan to knit a skirt for an adult daughter.
  • Convert the centimeters of the skirt sketch into loops and rows.

How to knit a warm, winter children's skirt: diagram, description

For warm skirt models, take wool yarn.
It will be more convenient for a girl to wear a product without seams, so stock up on circular knitting needles of the required thickness.

Braids and arans on skirts are especially beautiful. But if you are a beginner needlewoman, choose simpler patterns to work with, for example, rice, zig-zags with crossed loops, or jaccarge motifs.

Winter children's skirts are:

  • straight
  • bell-shaped
  • with a slight extension to the middle of the thigh, and then straight

Buy a thin fleece or similar material to line your skirt.

Tie a high elastic band in the waist area and fold it in half. Insert an elastic band between the sheets.

Below we add several interesting models of children's skirts with a description of the work.

How to knit a children's summer skirt with knitting needles: diagram, description

Summer is full of colors, clothes and mood. Girls like long, short, medium length skirts. Knit several pieces for your little one to create different looks.

  • Choose natural yarn. Cotton is the perfect solution. Take thin knitting needles, matching the thickness of the yarn.
  • Feel free to experiment with colors. Use all the leftover yarn that has accumulated over a year or more.
  • Pay attention to the openwork patterns, they will add originality and lightness to a children's knitted skirt.
  • Ruffles, flares, pleats, pomp - the main accents in knitted skirt models.
  • Consider an elastic band or place for a belt on the product. Their tasks are to ensure wearing comfort and hold the skirt in place.

Let's add a number of descriptions of knitting work on summer skirts for girls.

Knitted children's flared skirt: diagram, description

cute knitted flared skirt for girls

Perhaps, knitting flared skirts is the most popular among needlewomen of any skill level.

Features of working on it:

  • tie a high elastic band across the width of the girl’s waist. To do this, cast on the loops with a contrasting thread and remove it when you reach the desired number of rows. Transfer the open loops to an additional knitting needle and connect them with the main knitting method together. Insert an elastic band into the resulting tunnel,
  • knit a straight fabric without adding height, for example, 10 cm or at your discretion,
  • start adding stitches every 8-10 rows every 8-10 stitches. Consider the age and parameters of the girl for whom you are knitting a skirt,
  • Be guided by your sketch of the future skirt, do a test fitting to determine its best length.

For girls, skirt models made from a combination of 2-4 colors of yarn are interesting. Alternate them, for example, at the beginning of knitting more often, and closer to completion - make wider stripes of the same color.

Below are some examples of descriptions and patterns of knitted skirts.

Children's skirt knitted openwork

Consider the time of year when the girl will wear a knitted skirt. For a hot summer, the product does not need a lining. Therefore, make part of the skirt from the waist to a third of the thigh using the front stitch or purl stitch.

  • ruffles
  • along the perimeter of the bottom
  • the second part of the knitting, that is, below a third of the thigh

However, there are models that are completely openwork. Pay attention to the drawing and its appearance on the finished product. If necessary, sew on a cotton lining.

Openwork patterns that are more often found on children's skirts:

  • leaves
  • vertical stripes
  • flowers
  • branches
  • waves

Below is a detailed description of knitting an openwork children's skirt.

Long knitted children's skirt

long multi-colored knitted skirt on a smiling girl

Taking into account children's age, the concept of “skirt length” is undergoing changes. However, everything below the knee can be safely called long.

This type of children's skirts has the shape:

  • straight with an original ruffle at the end
  • slightly flared
  • half sun
  • bell

The colors of long children's skirts are:

  • plain
  • with a combination of 2-5
  • multicolor

Consider the time of year when the baby will wear a knitted long skirt. It is clear that for a summer model you will not need wool and a fleece lining.

An example of knitting a long children's skirt is shown below.

Children's knitted fluffy skirt

Adjust the pomp of a children's knitted skirt:

  • number of loops, adding them according to a specific pattern
  • due to ruffles, pleats, wedge-shaped extensions

In any case, what these skirts have in common is the elastic band and the finishing of the edge of the product.

And the differences:

  • yarn type
  • presence/absence of decorations, for example, ruffles
  • length

Knit particularly full skirts for the summer season, and moderate ones for cool autumn-spring days.

A couple of examples of descriptions of knitting fluffy children's skirts are below in the pictures.

Children's skirt with knitting needles

warm godet skirt for girls, made with knitting needles

The godet skirt is a straight model with an extension at the bottom, reminiscent of a fluffy flounce. The latter can start from:

  • mid thigh
  • 7-10 cm before the end of knitting

To highlight the special look of the skirt, insert vertical stripes with a contrasting thread so that they become the edging of the flounces. This idea is good for teenage girls.

For younger children, knit skirts:

  • plain
  • with an emphasis on the flared part, highlighted in a different color

As an example, let's add a finished knitting pattern and description in the picture below.

Children's skirt knitted sun

The circle skirt is to the taste of all girls.

  • Prepare circular knitting needles, preferably on a long line. Because by the end of knitting there will be 8-10 times more loops on them.
  • Tie an elastic band and a yoke so that the product fits well at the waist/hips.
  • To highlight the flared part of the skirt, choose a light openwork pattern or combine several colors of yarn.
  • Start adding stitches on each knit row in increments, for example 3 or 5 stitches.

For a detailed description of knitting a children's sun skirt, see the figure below.

Children's pleated skirt

Pleats on children's skirts look cute, fun and playful. Therefore, be sure to create knitted joy for your daughter/granddaughter.

Form folds in any of the following ways:

  • imitation - at regular intervals of loops, keep vertical facial stripes from 1 loop
  • using a pattern that expands the canvas, for example, leaves, ovals, trapezoids, rectangles
  • pleated with fabric wrapping
  • soft waves, flounces

If imitation of folds with a moderate expansion of the skirt fabric is closer to you, consider the following features:

  • add loops from crossed broaches between the loops or from non-openwork yarn overs,
  • perform broaches/yarn-overs in the middle of the strip of each fold. Then the central vertical loops will look neat without extra holes on both sides.

Let's add several ready-made descriptions of previously knitted children's pleated skirts.

Children's skirt with corrugated knitting needles

Ruffled skirts are interesting with light folds that move easily while walking.

There are a number of ways to knit corrugated needles:

  • from removed loops during imitation

  • using french elastic
  • openwork corrugated pattern

  • work all over the skirt with a chevron pattern

photo of the product and description of the chevron pattern

Since this type of product does not require complex patterns such as braids and arans, your yarn consumption will be moderate.

The finished diagram and description of the work on a children's ruffled skirt are below.

Children's pleated skirt

A pleated skirt is a classic in knitwear. It is performed in several ways:

  • imitation
  • forming folds from the fabric

Pleated looks great on garter and stockinette stitches. Suitable for skirt models in which the widening of the fabric comes from the elastic band or partially, for example, from the middle of the thigh.
If the height is too short, pleating is usually not performed.

To imitate pleated, use:

  • vertical lines of knit and purl loops located at equal intervals, for example, knit through the first 4 loops, purl through the next 4,
  • removed loops, which on the front side look like elongated knit stitches, and on the back side they look like purl ones.

Form folds with a turn:

  • right
  • left

Sometimes both inclinations are used simultaneously for knitted skirts.

Below are several diagrams and descriptions of working on children's pleated skirts.

Knitted children's skirt with ruffles

ready-made knitted skirt with ruffles for girls

Ruffles or flounces on children's skirts are an essential attribute of a little princess in the warm season.

Handicraft mothers even insert patterns into ruffled fabrics and decorate them with wavy or jagged edges.

The technique for knitting a ruffled skirt looks like this:

  • from bottom to top - from the edge of the bottom ruffle to its top. Be sure to reduce the initial number of loops by half and continue the fabric 2 times less than it was before the reduction, for example, with garter stitch. Leave the stitches open on the needles
  • tie 2 more or more shuttlecocks in the same way. Please note that you must have a sufficient number of knitting needles to work on this skirt model,
  • connect 2 ruffles together, putting one on top of the other and marking the beginning of the rows. Connect them by knitting knit stitches from one and the second needle at the same time,
  • Repeat above to attach each subsequent ruffle.

Perform a test fitting to determine the length of the skirt. If it satisfies you and the future owner, knit an elastic band. If not, use a yoke and then an elastic band.

Below are several ready-made descriptions of knitting children's skirts with ruffles.

Children's skirt knitted in a zigzag pattern

Choose a zigzag pattern if you plan to knit a skirt for a girl from sectionally dyed yarn or threads of different colors, alternating them.

The zigzag pattern is quite simple.

At the same time, it will be convenient for you to expand and contract the canvas with this pattern. For this:

  • add loops along the edges of the rapport on both sides if you need to create pomp on the skirt,
  • decrease in the same way along the loop on both sides when moving to the yoke and elastic band, if, for example, you are knitting the product from the bottom up.

Pay attention to an interesting version of the zig-zag pattern - missoni. You will get curved openwork paths on the canvas.
See the next section for a diagram of the missoni pattern.

Video: how to knit a pleated skirt for a girl?

In the summer, you want to wear light clothes made from natural fabrics that are well ventilated; preference is always given to skirts, shorts, and if you have mastered crochet for children, then you can create wardrobe items for your little princess with your own hands. This skirt is perfect for a little lady in the hot summer.

Crochet skirt for girls knitting is quite difficult, but you need to have basic knitting skills, therefore, first practice on simpler patterns, learn how to make loops, and then proceed to whole products.

Crochet skirt for girls

To knit a skirt, you will need iris yarn in two colors: blue and white. You, of course, can take any colors to your taste, the main thing is that your daughter likes them. Blue color is perfect for a blue-eyed beauty, but for a brown-eyed one - yellow or green. Of course, for a girl you can always choose soft pink or purple. We will knit with crochet number 2.

First, be sure to measure your waist circumference so that the skirt fits well. Do this along a line that is three centimeters above the baby’s navel. In this case, we got a 47 cm waist circumference. We take a white thread and collect a chain of air loops, its length should be about 46 cm, no more. Since we will be knitting an elastic band at the waist, the length of the chain should be slightly shorter, because it will stretch.

When the chain is ready, the hook must be removed and brought into the first loop. Be careful not to let your chain curl into a spiral. Connect its ends with a connecting post.

Let's start the first row, we will knit it with double crochets; for lifting, three air loops are made at the very beginning of the row. We finish the knitting with a connecting post.

We will knit the elastic 3 by 1: three - knitted in relief, one - purl in relief. To perform the front embossed stitch, you need to yarn over and insert the hook from the front side under the column of the previous row. Afterwards we knit the loop with a regular double crochet table.

Thus, three loops are performed. The purl relief is done like this: we make a yarn over, then insert the hook under the column of the previous row, but from the wrong side. These moments how to crochet a skirt, MK with a photo it will open for you.

Afterwards we start knitting the base of the skirt; frills will be attached to it (they are called scallops). This part is like a lining for the skirt. First, you need to cast on three air loops for lifting, and three more air loops, but for the pattern.

Next will be a pattern that will be carried out until the end of the row: one double crochet is knitted in the third loop from the hook, then three more chain stitches, then again we knit one double crochet in the third loop from the hook. The result should be equal squares.

The pattern will be the same in three rows, but on the fourth row the loops will need to be added, so the skirt will take on a “bell” shape. To do this, you need to knit two columns at once into one of the columns. This creates a V-shaped pattern.

In the next previous row we make one V-shaped pattern. There should be two such additions in each row; they are made on the sides of the skirt. This way you will make the base, now you need to make frills along the edge of the skirt, those very scallops that are the highlight of the skirt. The result is a very beautiful openwork product; in the same way, you can make a dress, the scallops will give it splendor. The top can be knitted using any patterns or a simple pattern using single crochets.
