Start knitting the regular (top) stitch for the left hand. To do this, you need to cast on the required number of stitches, dividing them equally for each of the four double needles. In order to close the knitting in a circle, we connect the beginning and end of the row by simply knitting the first loop.

Let's start knitting the mitten cuff. We advise you to choose some type of knitted elastic band for this, because such knitting holds the mitten on your hand better. We will use a 2*2 elastic band, that is, this is an alternation of two knit stitches and two purl stitches.

The height of the cuff is 20 rows - or 5 cm.

Next we move on to the main part of the mitten. We also knit it with blue thread, only in stockinette stitch (knit all the loops with knit stitches). We will knit to the base of the thumb. In our example, this distance is 4 cm, or 15 rows.

Then change the blue color to yellow. To do this, simply break the thread.

Attach a yellow thread and continue knitting with facial loops.

The methods for knitting the thumb of a mitten are varied. This master class describes the simplest of them. To do this, knit 4 knit stitches on the first knitting needle, insert a thread of a different color (marker) and knit the remaining 6 knit stitches on the knitting needle.

Return to the main color yarn, finish the current row with knit stitches, plus another 28 circular rows (total - 37 rubles from the rib).

In the next row, i.e. 38th, starting from the first needle, start decreasing along the edges. Knitting the thumb of an inner mitten is no different from the method described earlier. The only difference will be the number of rows, which are half a centimeter less (15 rows in total).
