New Year's bells. Crochet Christmas bell from Vendula Maderska: description and master class The process of crocheting bell flowers

The New Year and Christmas holidays are quickly approaching. It's time to think about decorations for the Christmas tree and home interior. Yes, I don’t argue, now a lot of beautiful jewelry can be purchased in the store. But you won’t find such original things there, made with love and soul.

Besides, it’s so nice to create such trinkets with your own hands, to come up with an original design for them, which you certainly won’t find in any store. I suggest crocheting New Year's bells to decorate the Christmas tree. And our diagram and description of the process will help you quickly cope with this task.

Necessary materials:

  • Alize Cotton Gold yarn (50% acrylic, 50% cotton) white
  • Alize Cotton Gold yarn (50% acrylic, 50% cotton) in various bright colors
  • hook No. 2
  • several colorful beads

Legend:

  • KA – amigurumi ring
  • dc - single crochet
  • pr-ka - increase
  • ub-ka - decrease

How to crochet a bell - diagram and description for beginners:

Since we will knit our bells in a circle, we will start knitting with the amigurumi ring known to all needlewomen, into which we knit 6 tbsp.

We continue knitting in the circle and the description given below:
1st: pr x 6 times = 12p
2p.: (st.b/n, pr-ka) x 6 times = 18p
3p.: (2 st.b/n, pr-ka) x 6 times = 24p

Next we knit eight rows without changes in each row of 24 tbsp.

In the ninth row we increase every fourth column of the previous row, resulting in 30 loops.
The tenth and eleventh rows are knitted in single crochets.
In the twelfth row we make an increase in each column of the previous row, we get 60 loops.

The last, 13th row, change the white thread to any thread of a bright color (in my case, light green) and tie the base of the bell in a crawfish step, i.e. using the same single crochet stitches, only knitting occurs in the opposite direction. Stepping back two rows up, we decorate the bell with a border made of light green yarn.

How to tie a bell tongue

In KA we cast on 6 tbsp, tighten all the loops into a ring. In the second row we make an increase in each column of the previous row, we get 12 loops. We knit the next two rows (3-4) with single crochets.
In the fifth row, we cut the loops 6 times, knitting two loops with one single crochet.
Next, reduce the loops to one. After knitting, we fasten the thread, cut it off and hide it inside the tongue. We attach a light green thread to the tongue.

We insert a hook through the center of the bell, grab the thread from the tongue and thread it outward (we should get a loop).

We tie a small knot at the base, then string an emerald bead and tie another knot on top.

We are preparing materials and on Wednesday, December 7th, right in this note we will begin to analyze the job description.

Description of work

We knit a bell in a spiral. We make a starting row of two air loops using white thread.

1st row: 9 sc (single crochet) in the second loop of the starting row.

2nd row: 2 sc in each sc of the previous row (= 18 sc).

from the 3rd to the 10th row: we knit the same way, 1 sc and each sc of the previous row (= 18 sc).

If you have questions about knitting, take a look at Vendula’s page "Christmas Bell", where she shows step-by-step photos of the knitting process.

11th row: repeat the following sequence 6 times: 2 sc in the first sc of the previous row, then 1 sc in the next sc of the previous row, then 1 more sc in the next sc of the previous row (= 24 sc).

12th row: 1 sc in each sc in the previous row.

We knit the 13th row with a light green thread in the same way as the 12th row.

We knit the 14th row with a dark green thread in the following sequence: 1 connecting stitch in the sc of the previous row, then repeat until the end of the row (3 chain loops, skip the sc of the previous row, 1 connecting stitch)

The bell is ready!

Then we decorate our bell the way we want. We attach the bell inside the bell with a red thread, bring the thread out and make a pendant loop. Sew on beads and buttons.

Knit your bells and be sure to show them off

Knitted flowers are often used to decorate various knitted items and accessories. And in this MK Knitted Fairy Tale will tell you how to crochet bell flowers, which are perfect for decorating hats, panama hats and hats. Also, such flowers can be used as brooches and even decorate a Christmas tree for the New Year.

To knit bells we will need:

  • (blue, blue and green);
  • Hook;
  • Beads;
  • Needle.

For convenience, we will use the following abbreviations:

Air loop - V.p.

Single crochet - St.b.N.

Double crochet – S.S.N.

Double crochet stitch – Art.s.2N.

Half double crochet - Pst.s.N.

The process of crocheting bell flowers

First, we will make a sliding loop from blue threads.

And then we will knit twelve St.S.N. into it. The first such St.S.N will be replaced by three V.P. rise.

In the new row we need to increase the number of loops. To do this, in every second loop we will knit two St.S.N.

Our knitting will begin to take shape.

Now we need to knit four more rows, but we will no longer increase the number of columns. That is, there will be eighteen of them in each row.

The top of the bell is ready. Now we need to expand the flower. And for this we will knit two St.S.N. in every loop.

First we knit into a loop St.b.N. In the second we knit Pst.s.N. and St.S.N.

In the third we will perform St.s.N. and St.s.2N.

We knitted half a petal.

Then in the fourth loop we perform St.s.2H and St.s.N. In the fifth loop - S.s.N and Pst.s.N. And in the sixth and seventh loops we knit one St.b.N.

And then we repeat knitting. We will get six petals.

We break the thread and attach blue yarn between the petals.

Where in the previous row we knitted the St.b.N., we will insert the hook from the side and under the St.b.N. where we widened the bottom of the bell.

And we will knit St.b.N. This will be our relief column.

Let's move on to the greenery for the flower.

We knit the first two rows in the same way as we knitted the first two rows for the bell.

Next we make five v.p. And we knit St.b.N., Pst.s.N., two St.s.N. In the third loop at the base we will knit St.b.N.

We continue knitting in circles.

Now we string one bead on a blue thread and tie a large knot at the end. We need four or five such parts.

After which we pull them through the bell so that the beads are inside, and the threads are brought up. And we fix it.

Now we put the green part on the flower and sew it on.

Sew two flowers together. And we knit a leaf. We dial nine V.p. And we knit further St.b.N., Pst.s.N., St.s.N., St.s.2N., St.s.N., Pst.s.N., St.b.N., connecting column.

Crocheted interior items have not surprised anyone for a long time. Sofa cushions, napkins, panels or even vases have become quite common. However, the idea of creating bell-shaped Christmas decorations is relatively new. It is actively used in European countries, decorating their homes, Christmas trees, windows and doors. In addition, it will allow you to get a rather cute little present - an openwork bell - hook. The design of such products is not at all simple, but is accessible to most craftswomen.

Yarn for bells

For crocheting small items, a very thin one is suitable. In this case, it is advisable to choose mercerized cotton rather than crochet. This thread is treated with alkali, so it is frizz-free, smooth and has a tight twist.

The decor knitted from such material turns out to be very expressive. Otherwise, a hook will help you get a rather rough and too voluminous bell hook. The pattern is usually designed for the use of yarn with a thickness of about 550-600 m/100 grams. As a last resort, you can use material with a thread length of 450-500 m/100 grams.

Crochet bell: diagram and description

The photo shows a bell that is knitted as follows:

  • Start working with a chain of 4 air loops (VP).
  • 1 VP lift, 12 half-columns (PS). Half-stitches are performed in the same way as double crochets (dc), but the loop and crochet are knitted together, and not sequentially.
  • 1 VP rise, 1 PS, 1 PS, 2 PS in one base loop (that is, double every third PS).
  • 4 VP rise, 1 VP, double crochet stitch. Repeat the sequence (except for the lifting loops).
  • 1 VP rise, 32 single crochets (SC). Repeat the row two more times.
  • 1 VP lifting, 4 sc, 20 VP, 1 sc in the 5th VP, 5 VP, 4 sc. Repeat 7 times.
  • 1 VP lift, 2 RLS, 6 RLS in a smaller arch, 8 RLS in a large arch, 2 VP, 8 RLS in a large arch, 6 RLS in a smaller arch. Sequence: 2 RLS, 6 RLS in a smaller arch, 4 RLS in a large arch, attach the petal to the middle of the nearest petal with a connecting column, 4 RLS in a large arch, 2 VP, 8 RLS in a large arch, 6 RLS in a smaller arch.

This method will help you make several identical hooks or one small bell hook; the pattern is not complicated, but skills in working with circular fabrics are required. The process can be simplified by knitting the petals without attaching them while knitting. They can be sewn after the product is ready.

Mount for decoration

To make it convenient to attach the bell to a spruce branch or to another holder, you need to tie a loop on top. The material used is the same thread that was used to knit the bell, as well as a satin or organza ribbon. In the photo, a crocheted plastic circle was sewn to the bell. It's very convenient and beautiful. You can tie a ribbon bow to the ring or simply put it on a branch.

Processing bells

In order for the finished product to hold its shape and perform its main function, it must be processed. With your own hands I created a knitted bell hook, the pattern and pattern do not matter, you need to put it on a cone made of thick cardboard prepared in advance. To prevent the paper from softening, you need to wrap it in plastic and only then put on the bell.

If the product has a shape other than a cone, then the base should be given a corresponding appearance. As an alternative, light bulbs, cups, shaped vases and other objects of suitable shape are used.

Having placed the bell on the mold, it is generously moistened with a solution of starch, PVA glue or gelatin. After complete drying, you get a durable and voluminous crocheted New Year's bell. Pattern patterns with large holes can result in a very soft fabric. In this case, you can soak the product with the solution several times.
