look at how many cells there are (first of all, you use them as a guide; you can even roughly draw a vest on a scale from a photograph), look at where to place the fastex/zipper. You draw on whatman paper as much as possible, apply it according to your figure, cut off the excess, replace it and add more glue. You will hardly find similar patterns online. Equipment is not clothing, there are no such complex lines. The result is something convenient for you. I did it, but I already gave away the patterns.

I needed it to take measurements, and that’s how I wanted to make the cells. I cut it out and began to customize it to suit myself. With a height of 186, you can lengthen it a little and, for me, also widen it. Literally a cell down and a cell to the side. I shot with a piece of thin paralon under my shoulder, it didn’t seem comfortable, in my opinion, a rubber galosh on the butt is better and that’s all.
It seems like I adjusted it to myself.
The cell size in the figure is 5mm. Green dotted lines show standard size (copied from Tarzan M-37). Red is if the seam is not on the shoulder, but on the chest.

Now they have begun to make a second option - modular, when pockets and pouches can be removed.

There are several fastening systems, the most popular is Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment. Abbreviated as MOLLE. Here, horizontal fabric ribbons with slots are sewn onto the removable parts and on the vest. By threading a fabric sling through them, you can easily attach (or remove) any element.

Pouches

The purpose of the pouch is to store a supply of ammunition. Therefore, it is reasonable to select it for a specific type of weapon (this is where the advantage of the modular system manifests itself). However, they are now producing pouches for any necessary items: flasks, first aid kits, documents, various small items. The material used is leather or cordura.

Why does a gun belt need a limiter?

Some models of vests (for example, Tarzan) are equipped with an original “gadget” - a belt limiter. He does not allow the machine gun to insidiously slide off his shoulder. According to user reviews, this often happens. So the limiter is a useful thing. But in the summer, when the vest is worn without a jacket, it can sometimes create a little discomfort.

Save money: sew unloading yourself

It’s no secret that you will have to pay quite a bit of money for a finished vest (several thousand rubles). But if your hands are not afraid of work, then you can build a quite decent unloading vest.

Making a pattern

Patterns can be made from newsprint or old wallpaper. Look carefully at the finished models and draw something similar, adjusting the pattern to your liking. Shred and cut until you are happy with the result. Everything should fit well and nothing should stick out!

We select materials

The best fabric is cordura. Choose the color to your taste. But you can take durable nylon, nylon, and other durable synthetics. Who knows - maybe you have a piece of suitable material lying around for such a case. This will save even more money. Don't forget about the lining.

You will need more slings - you need a lot of them. After all, we will be making a vest with the Molle system.

1. First, you need to take measurements of chest circumference, neck circumference, shoulder length, as well as the length of the product itself. Making a vest pattern.

4. Now the back and front pattern can be cut out and immediately applied to you to make changes. Remember that unloading must be free.
5. After you have thought about what will be worn in the unloading, you can draw the location of the pockets.
6. The back and front pieces are cut out from the lining and main fabric. The location of the necessary pockets is marked on the front side.
7. Pockets should be voluminous, so the lower corners of the rectangles are stitched, and the seam allowances are pressed inside out. Safety pins are used to secure the pockets in place.
8. Right sides of the valve parts are folded towards each other and stitched, but the upper part of the valve must be open. By turning it right side out, you can sew a buckle or Velcro tape. The valves, like the pockets, are attached.
9. Now the upper part, padding polyester, and lining are pinned together and the shoulder and side seams are made. The edges of the sections are edged using a belt.
10. And at the last stage you need to mark the lines for the straps and fasteners. After this, the belts are sewn on, and tacks are made at the ends of the stitches.

Now the buckles are attached. Unloading is ready! The whole merit of unloading is that many different necessary things can not only be carried, but also quickly retrieved if necessary.
