For creative work you will need a ribbon 5 cm wide and 75 cm long.
First of all, it is necessary to singe the edges of the ribbon so that they do not unravel. Take the edge and fold it to the opposite side so that you get a triangle.
Now this corner needs to be twisted and then secured. Now, the middle of our rose is ready.
Now let's fold the tape to the edge on the other side. Then we fold the tape as if we want to make a paper boat. Let's secure these actions with a “forward needle” seam, which is all known from the school curriculum.
We continue to bend the ribbon and secure it with thread, using this principle until the very end of the ribbon. As a result, you should get a spiral.
Let's tighten the spiral a little with thread and evenly distribute the folds, which will later become the petals of our rose.
Now we begin to form a bud, twist the ribbon, stitching it with thread from time to time so that our beautiful rose does not fall apart and bloom.
To make the flower more like a natural one, we need a leaf. It's just as easy to do. We fold a small piece of tape, 5 cm wide, with the edges inward, then in half again lengthwise, after which we wrap it like a paper bag.
We secure it, assemble the rose with its petals, glue it together and everything is ready.

Rose sewn from satin ribbons

For this option, you will also need a ribbon, the width of which is 5 cm. This time we cut this ribbon into equal squares. Each square will subsequently become an independent petal.
Make approximately 25 elements and singe them around the edges with a lighter to prevent them from unraveling. You can use tweezers for convenience, but you can do without it.
We bend the square in half, now we bend each corner towards the middle.
Now let's move on to the most jewelry action in our work, we cut off the bottom edge and melt it over a lighter. The same work must be done with the remaining squares that we prepared for the petals.
We take the blank for the petal and twist it and stitch it with thread. We apply the second petal, wrap it around the first one and stitch it in the same way. We do exactly the same work with the rest of the petals, we try to make the petals seem to move along the axis so that the bud looks like a real one.
The level of the petals is also important; if done correctly, the bottom of the bud should be flat. After the bud is ready, let's move on to the leaf.
You will need a ribbon measuring 8 cm long and 4 cm wide, bend them as if you want to twist them. Now fold it in half, placing one part on top of the other. After this, you should bend all the corners into one and cut off the corner or tail that will form at the back. We seal the cut lines with a lighter. The leaf is ready.
All that remains is to collect the whole flower. Glue the bud to the leaves and our decoration is ready for use.

Openwork tricolor flower

We will need:

satin ribbons in three shades. Tape width 4 cm,
narrow rep tape 9 mm wide,
to decorate the flower you will need artificial pearls on a string,
a felt circle, an elastic band, and for the center of the flower you need three milky-colored beads (their diameter is approximately 8 mm),
lighter, thread with needle, pins, foam spool as auxiliary material, glue gun, candle.

Let's start our work with the darkest tape. We need 7 pieces of 8 cm each. We fold the pieces in half, pin them together, and cut off the corners and edges. The result is an oval shape. Now in the upper part of the petal we make a notch with scissors about a centimeter and a half. Now we make blanks from pink ribbon. From this tape you need to make 4 pieces of 8 cm each. We make a cut on the fold.

We get 4 pieces of 8 cm each. Fold them in half again, secure with a pin, cut off the corners and edges. We do not make a notch on this petal. Now you need to make 6 pieces of 7.5 cm from the milky ribbon. Cut it on the fold, add another strip of the same kind, now fold the three strips in half and cut it on the fold. In total you will get 6 segments. We pin and trim the corners and edges of the tape.

Now we will make the petals. For this you need a candle or lighter. Also use tweezers to protect your hands from burns. Here you need to bring the petal high to the fire, because the satin melts very quickly, turn the petal 180 degrees, fold the two - one to one, clamp the fold with tweezers and melt it with fire, you get a double petal. All petals should turn out airy and light. Then we melt the petals of the lower tier, it has a notch. You need to catch the flow of hot air, then the satin will curl as needed, the ends will curl beautifully.

We continue to work

After we have prepared the petals, we begin to work with the babina. We take a needle and thread, stick the blunt end with an eye into the foam with a sharp movement, this is very simple to do, and now we string the darkest petals onto the needle with a twist. We place them so that the turn faces down. You can do this in a checkerboard pattern. Then we place the other two colors with the folds up.

After all the petals are strung, remove the needle from the foam, tighten the thread and make a few stitches to secure the petals. This method is more reliable than gluing with glue.

Let's start making the flower. To do this, take three beads and string them on a regular fishing line, pull them tightly so that they are placed in the form of a triangle. The center for the flower is ready. It needs to be glued to a felt mug.

Pink satin peonies

We will need: a pink satin ribbon 2.8 cm wide, a lilac one a little narrower - 2.7 cm, we will also need a ribbon 5 cm wide. You can take milky and golden ribbons, and to finish the rim take an imitation pearl thread, rhinestones on the thread . Also take a metal rim covered with film, a lighter, tweezers, and a glue gun.

From the ribbon we make pieces 14 cm long. Fold the ribbon in the form of a tongue in half lengthwise, align the edges, then remove the finger, clamp it, and melt it with fire, not reaching the satin edge now.
In this way we process the petal from the pink ribbon, then proceed to the lilac ribbon.
We fold it with the front side, go diagonally to the upper corner, fuse the edges so that later the ribbons do not separate.
You should get a nice corner with folds; you can pinch it with tweezers, if that’s more convenient for you, and cut off the corner.
To give the leaf a bend, it must be heated.
We fold the blanks in pairs, glue them together in three pairs, leaving the remaining leaves unglued.
Now you need to measure a piece of chain with rhinestones and apply glue with a toothpick. We glue the rhinestones very carefully, distributing them evenly along the required length, and apply a chain with rhinestones.
Thus, we prepare a bunch of beautiful leaves, 5 pieces each, there should be 10 bunches in total. They need to be glued at the fold and held with tweezers for a few seconds so that the glue hardens.
Glue the prepared stamens of the name and stamens. Apply three drops of glue at the base and glue the decorative stamens.
This flower is a bit like a peony bud. You can make several opened flowers and two or three buds.

Multilayer rose

We will need:

A scarlet satin ribbon is 4 centimeters wide, we will need 42 cm of it.
We will also need a finishing ribbon (the edges are made of organza and the center is satin).
The gradient tape is 4 cm wide, we will need 96 cm of it.
Felt circle with a diameter of 3 cm, and the middle for a flower.
Lighter, scissors, needle and thread.

Work process:

Let's start working with a satin ribbon. Cut a 14 cm strip and fold it in half. Then we put it with the front side inward, now we step back from the fold 3 cm and cut off the corner, but do not cut off the top corner.
We clamp the cut with tweezers and melt it with fire.
The remaining 3 millimeters will melt and will not be visible on the tape, but when you make a leaf in this way, this corner will never tear, the leaves will keep their shape well.
We bend the sheet, make it convex. Now we just cut off the corners. We treat the cut with fire.
We sew wide stitches along the entire length of the cut. We tighten the thread and secure it. You will get a beautiful petal. We will need three of them.

Now let's start making the flower itself. We will need 8 pieces of 12 cm each.
We fold the piece, matching the corners, turn it inside out, treat it with fire, fold it in half, and turn it back towards the center. Align the ribs in height, cut off the corner. We melt the cut. The cut makes it possible to place the petal at an angle of 45 degrees. The most important thing is to combine the corners and melt the material well. The corners can be lowered down, the folds can be aligned, the corner can be trimmed, or melted with fire.
You need to make 8 such petals, they will never turn out the same, this is not necessary, such a flower looks more alive, like a real one.
Glue the leaves onto a felt circle.

Glue the petals directly onto the workpiece. Apply glue to the cut and place the leaf against the workpiece so that it looks up.
We glue the petals at a distance of 1 cm to create a neat center.
We glue four petals first, and then place the remaining petals between them.

Satin ribbon daffodil

For this work we will need two colors of tape.
We cut it into 6 pieces 14 cm long (ribbon width 4 cm).
We use yellow and cream colors.
Felt circles with a diameter of 3 cm, beads on a thread with a diameter of 4 mm, a stationery clip, a thread with a needle, a glue gun.
Let's start by processing the tape cuts.
Then we begin to collect the petal. Fold the segment in half with the front side inward, cut off the right corner, 1 cm away from the edge. We melt the cut with fire.

Now turn it inside out, fold the cuts and ends so that the corners match. We make an envelope and along the edge of the edge of the front side, we put the part on a needle and thread with small folds.
Then we do this with a ribbon of a different color. Don't forget to melt the sections. Turn it inside out and fold the edges.
We collect the petal on a needle and thread. The result is a yellow petal.
Thus, alternating colors, collect all the petals - yellow and cream. Pull the thread together and tie the edges. We turn the product inside out, making sure that all corners are on top.
You can tighten the flower by inserting the needle into the loop. The cream petals should be on top.

What do you imagine when you hear or read about beautiful flowers made from satin ribbons? Yes, perhaps a little ridiculous (you won’t look at my first roses without pity). But it will work out. This is not knitting, which will kill you for a couple of days, and not miniature painting, which clearly requires talent; here, just watch a master class on creating flowers from ribbons with your own hands and you will get a finished flower.

Almost all flowers from silk ribbons are made in such a way that they are durable. Of course, if you are planning to make simply decorative bouquets, then you don’t need special strength, but if you suddenly want to make a beautiful headband as a gift for your child, on which fabric flowers act as decor, then I advise you to make every effort to ensure that the flowers do not got disheveled in the first couple of days.

How to do it

I'll tell you several ways to make flowers. I’ll say right away that the methods are basic; based on them, you can make any other flowers that are visually similar to those described by me. By the way, I advise you to try to make fantasy compositions without trying to embody any living flowers - this way you can better feel the technique and its features.

Preparation for production

So where do we start preparing? What will you need for the job? Write down:

ribbons of different widths and different colors, I prefer satin ones, they look very elegant;
good sharp scissors (I use regular tailor's scissors);
needles and threads of different thicknesses;
glue gun and several sticks of clear glue;
a pair of tweezers (those for eyebrows will do, but it’s better to get a good one if you’re going to seriously make flowers).

In addition to this, you will also need beads and flower centers, sequins and fishing line, a floral sleeve and much more that you have lying around in your craft basket.

I prefer to work at a clean table under a table lamp, and I advise you to prepare your workspace - remove all unnecessary things, adjust the light.

Kanzashi

My first acquaintance with flowers took place just when I came to the Kanzashi master class. This mk became my starting point, and I am grateful to the girls who literally in a few hours taught me and a bunch of other girls to make stunning kanzashi flowers from a narrow ribbon, chic kanzashi flowers from satin ribbons of greater width, and gave deep ideas about this technique and its capabilities.

What is kanzashi? This is the art of decorating hairpins, which came to us from Japan. Pieces of fabric were folded into the shape of flower petals, and amazing flowers bloomed on the stiletto heels, which could decorate any hairstyle. Now kanzashi are in fashion, so it is not surprising that many girls have mastered this technique.

To work in the kanzashi technique, in addition to the previously described tools, you will also need a ruler, a chalk pencil for cutting (can be replaced with a simple pencil or a sharpened piece of dry soap) and a candle for scorching.

Some girls use a lighter, but it seems to me that a candle gives a more even flame, and you can fold the fabric much more neatly when your hands are free.

Melted petals

The following method of making flowers from satin ribbons is suitable for those who want to make a large composition at once; for example, I used this technique to make a basket of flowers for my mother’s anniversary. However, there are some nuances:

melted petals look less neat compared to kanzashi, so you should not use these flowers next to a formal outfit;
be prepared for the fact that it won’t work out right away;
Not every ribbon is suitable for making these colors; this can only be determined experimentally.

Both satin ribbons and ordinary nylon ribbons (like children’s bows) are suitable for making.

Step-by-step instruction

From cardboard we cut out a pattern in the shape of a plump half-heart (as in the photo below).
We cut out the petals (you will have to tinker) - at least 6 large ones and the same number of smaller ones and even smaller ones, maybe twice as many of each size.
Each petal needs to be processed using fire - the edge will bunch up a little and the petal will become voluminous.
Then the petals are collected on the central thread, arrange them symmetrically, with a slight overlap, so that the flower looks voluminous, and it is best to collect them in a checkerboard pattern (see photo below).
Several beads are attached to the center on a string to imitate the middle.

Simple flowers

Very simple and at the same time expressive fabric flowers can be made in just a few minutes. If you have never tried to make flowers from ribbons, then you will definitely succeed with this tutorial.

How to make flowers in five minutes?

Cut the tape into pieces of 5-10 centimeters. You can take identical pieces, or you can use pieces of different lengths, then the flowers will be more natural.
We carefully melt the sections on a candle - so as not to fray. Make sure that you don’t get dark, sloppy sagging.
Along the bottom part we make a loose stitch with a strong thread (it is better to use a medium-sized needle so as not to make too large holes.
We tighten each segment to get a petal.
We collect the resulting petals using color - we use small pieces in the middle, larger ones closer to the edges.
Glue the middle into the center.
You can decorate flowers with narrow white ribbons - for example, make stamens or centers.
We put the collected flowers into a composition and glue them to the base.

To be honest, before I became interested in this type of needlework, I thought that simple patterns were embroidered from a narrow satin ribbon. No matter how it is!
