DIY topiary of unusual shape. How to make topiary with your own hands: from coffee, napkins, satin ribbons and corrugated paper. Learning to make creative topiary at home

Topiaries made from artificial flowers are distinguished by their sophistication and versatility, because you can create your favorite composition at any time of the year. Of course, in order to get a truly realistic picture, you will have to work hard, watching a single master class! However, the end result will make you erase all the difficulties of the work process from your memory, forcing you to enjoy only the end result.

Such crafts are a very modern idea that acquired their relevance relatively recently. Any person can cope with the task, even an amateur in matters of hand made. The main thing is to strictly observe the proportions and the basic principle of operation.

The tree itself can serve several purposes at once:

  • Become a wonderful gift for both adults and their children.
  • Act as decor for photo shoots.
  • Decorate the current interior.

By the way, it is better to make a grass topiary slightly higher in height than a traditional flower arrangement. This is explained by the fact that in enlarged sizes such a composition will look much more convincing and, if the performer wishes, it can even outwardly resemble a real tree! However, unlike its living equivalent, topiary will not need to be watered, fertilized, etc.

Unusual ideas for creating topiary from coffee beans:

The shape of the composition does not change: everything is also a rounded tree in an elegant pot. Of course, it will take quite a lot of time to cover the crown, because gluing small fragments of artificial grass can sometimes be very tasty and monotonous! But you need to be patient! In any case, the end result will justify the efforts.

DIY artificial flower topiary for beginners

Topiary from perfect artificial flowers begins with making a “tree” and selecting the right pot for it. The “plant” itself consists of crumpled paper placed on a wooden stick - everything is very simple and concise. It will be much more difficult to decorate the product in the future. One of the most important issues is the choice and decoration of the pot, which plays an important role in this tandem.

And you can achieve harmony thanks to the following materials at hand:

  • Ribbons, beads and decorative mesh.
  • Embroidery “planted” on canvas.
  • Textile.
  • Hand painted with acrylic paints.
  • Leg-split.
  • Burlap with added decorative elements.

Recently, the so-called shabby chic style, characterized by blatant simplicity of lines and some carelessness, has become especially popular. The pot must be painted with a single color paint, deliberately leaving scuff marks and unpainted areas. If it was not possible to achieve this during the work, you can use sandpaper, which will immediately solve all the problems.

When placing a tree in a pot, you need to make sure that it is securely strengthened. This can be achieved by pouring concrete into the container and leaving the structure to dry for about a day. Now there is no doubt: the topiary will stand securely in place and will withstand the loads that future decor will place on it.

How to make topiary from artificial flowers with your own hands: useful tips

Any master class on making topiary makes this process accessible to everyone: parents, children, teachers, students. The main thing is the desire to concentrate attention and, ultimately, get a truly stunning result.

For these purposes you will need:

  • Artificial flowers and grass.
  • Gypsum.
  • Glue.
  • A flower pot.
  • Decor elements.
  • Coffee beans.
  • Newspapers or thin paper.

Moreover, all selected elements may vary depending on the wishes of the performer. The main thing is that none of them stands out from the overall ensemble.

When preparing artificial flowers for work, it is necessary to remove the stems from the roots by treating the cut with sandpaper. In this way, it is possible to ensure a tighter fit of the material to the base. To make the composition look more realistic, the crown of the tree can be wrapped with artificial grass, giving it a more natural look. The “highlight” of the composition can be small birds, comfortably hidden in the green skin.

The topiary will be exactly as the master sees it! And this is the main advantage of such work!

Master class on topiary made from artificial flowers: what is important

That is why, when starting work, you should keep this Talmud in your head:

  • A master class is just a sketch that can be improved.
  • There are no errors here, so you can do whatever you want.
  • Even experienced professionals can make mistakes.

Flower topiary: master class (video)

It will take no more than a day to create an exquisite topiary. Artificial grass, flowers or decorative elements behave equally well in caring hands. Especially if the composition is made as a gift to a good or loved one.

Options for topiary made from artificial flowers (photo)

Select flowers and plants. Medium-sized buds on strong stems are suitable for making topiary. These can be roses, chrysanthemums, small lilies, daisies. If you want to use flowers with flexible and fragile stems, then you can use floral wire for fastening. As additional plants, use gypsophila, various dried flowers, Kermek and any green twigs.

Also, to make topiary from fresh flowers you will need:
- floristic oasis;
- thick wire or kebab skewer;
- satin ribbons;
- organza ribbons;
- Super glue;
- scissors;
- flower pot;
- plaster;
- decorative elements.

Making a “tree of happiness”

Unlike making topiary from artificial materials, a product made from fresh flowers must begin not with the formation of the crown, but with the preparation of the base. Make a trunk. To do this, take a kebab stick and wrap it tightly with a satin ribbon. Secure the edges with superglue.

Dilute the plaster with water to the consistency of a homogeneous viscous mass. Pour it into a flower pot, place the prepared stick and leave for a day so that the plaster hardens. At this time, you can prepare an oasis and buy flowers.

Usually, florist shops sell oases in the form of a rectangle. To give it the classic round topiary crown shape, trim off the excess with scissors. The base does not have to be perfectly smooth; all errors will be hidden by the flowers. Place the oasis in water. Once it is completely wet, squeeze it out lightly.

Place the flowers in water to soak them in moisture, then shake. Cut off the excess part of the stem with pruning shears or scissors, leaving a petiole 3-5 cm long. If you are using flowers with a fragile stem, wrap it with floral wire.

First, stick the largest flowers into the oasis, there should be few of them, 5 or 7 pieces are enough. Distribute them evenly over the surface of the ball. Insert smaller flowers and greenery into the spaces between them.

Insert the prepared crown with fresh flowers into the upper part of the structure onto the trunk and tie an organza bow. Decorate the surface of the pot with pebbles or dry grass. Add decorative elements as you wish.

Topiary (“tree of happiness”, “European tree”) is a small decorative tree that decorates interiors and exteriors, and is also often used for. Topiaries are good because they look very beautiful, and you can make them with your own hands in literally 1 evening from scrap materials.

  • This means that you can make several decorations at once, for example, one pair for the New Year's table setting, another for the Easter table, and a couple more for the mantelpiece.

In this material you will find 1 basic instruction on how to make a topiary with your own hands for beginners, as well as 3 step-by-step master classes in addition to it and 45 photo ideas for inspiration.

Basic instructions for beginners

Topiaries of even the most complex designs are made according to approximately the same principle. Having mastered the basic manufacturing technology, you can create a wide variety of topiaries, changing only the materials for decoration.

So, to make a mini-tree with your own hands, you will need to create it:

  • Crown;
  • Trunk;
  • The base of the tree.

Step 1: Design Planning

Topiary can be different not only in design, but also in service life. Before you start work, think about why you need a “tree of happiness” and where will it live? The purpose and future location of the topiary will determine its style, color scheme and even the materials for its creation.

If you want to make topiary for, then materials that are not too durable can be used - paper, napkins, sweets, fresh flowers, fruits. If you want to make topiary as a gift or for interior decoration, then it is better to use more reliable decor - pine cones, artificial flowers, coffee beans, ribbons, organza, etc.

In the following selection of photos you can get ideas for designing themed and festive topiaries.

And here is a selection of photo examples of the design of exclusively interior topiary (scroll through!).

Step 2. Preparing materials

To make your own topiary you will need:

  • Foam ball with a diameter of 8-12 cm(available at many office supply and art stores) or a floral foam ball (available at gardening and flower shops).

If desired, you can make a ball yourself from polystyrene foam, the same floral foam, polyurethane foam, papier-mâché, etc. However, the base of the crown can be not only in the shape of a ball, but also in the form of a heart, star, number, letter, animal figure, etc. etc.

  • Decor for the crown - depending on your idea, use flowers, satin ribbons, organza, coffee beans, banknotes, etc.
  • Trunk - it can be made from a dry and clean branch, a simple pencil or any other stick. In addition, the trunk and pot can be replaced by a tall candlestick.
  • Decor for the trunk– the barrel can at least be coated with matte varnish or painted. And at the most, wrap it with one or two ribbons.
  • Flower pots – it’s most convenient to pour the mixture into a clay pot, but any cute cups, mugs, vintage buckets, etc. will also work.
  • Fixing mixture– the best choice for making topiary with your own hands is a mixture of alabaster, as it hardens quickly, hardly cracks and is cheap. You can also use cement-sand mortar, gypsum or putty. However, not only binding mixtures can fix a tree in a pot, but also the same polystyrene foam, floral foam or stones.
  • Everything for mixing the mixture– container, water, stick, etc.
  • Decor for masking the fixing mixture– to create an imitation of soil cover, it is best to use natural materials: dry moss, small pebbles, expanded clay, sisal fiber. Artificial moss and rocks will also work. Pots of “edible” topiary can be filled with candies and jelly beans.
  • Glue gun and several glue sticks– if necessary, it can be replaced with glue like “Moment”, but it is best not to do this, since glue in a gun is more convenient, and most importantly, it allows you to remove random “cobwebs”.
  • Scissors or cutter.
  • Tailor's pins with a very small head(optional, used in addition to or instead of glue, for example, for fastening beads).
  • Side cutters or nippers for trimming the trunk or any decorative elements.

At the preparatory stage, divide the decorative parts for the crown into groups - for example, large, medium and small. This will make it more convenient for you to alternate the decor and distribute it evenly across the ball.

Step 3: Creating a crown

First, you need to apply markings to the ball - mark the place for attaching the barrel and mark a boundary around it, beyond which you do not need to go for some time when gluing the decor. Thanks to this technique, in the future you can easily fix the barrel in the ball without spoiling the decor.

As soon as the glue warms up, start shaping the ball in the following order: “trying on” the part without glue – applying glue to the desired place – fixing the part. Remember that you need to act quickly so that the glue does not have time to absorb into the foam. That is why it is better to apply and try on the decor first.

Here are a few more nuances:

  • You need to stick the decor onto the ball starting from large elements and ending with small ones. For example, if you are making topiary from artificial flowers, then first glue the largest buds onto the ball, then the medium ones, and only then the small flowers and additional beads.
  • Some decor can be secured to the ball using tailor's pins and nails. But it is best to combine carnations with glue.
  • If some parts have bases made of wire (for example, the same artificial flowers), then you need to leave about 2 cm from their “tails”. Then you can not only glue the decor, but also stick it into the ball.
  • To make the white base ball less noticeable in the gaps between the glued parts, it can be painted to match the decor.

Now we need to work with the barrel. As already mentioned, making it with your own hands is not at all difficult from a branch, pencil or any stick.

If you use a branch, then you don’t have to paint it, but just coat it with matte varnish so that the natural beauty of the tree is visible. If you use a wooden stick, then it can only be slightly tinted, artificially aged, etc. If you want to mask the surface of the trunk completely, then you can wrap satin ribbons, fabric, paper, rope around it, or completely paint it.

How long should it be? Since the trunk goes deep into both the pot and the ball, its length can be calculated using the following formula:

  • Trunk length = 1/3 of the ball diameter + height of the pot + desired length of the trunk between the crown and the pot.

To attach the barrel, you need to use an awl and a knife to make a hole in the ball with a depth of about 2-3 cm (depending on its size) at the marking site. When the hole is ready, fill its bottom with hot glue and push the crown onto the trunk until it stops. Then continue holding the barrel and gradually fill the hole with glue around the barrel.

  • Keep in mind that the hot glue will melt the foam and make the hole deeper. To prevent the trunk from going deeper into the crown by more than 1/3 of its diameter, small pieces of paper can be placed between the layers of glue.

As soon as the barrel is fixed in the ball, disguise the attachment point with decor.

Step 5. Preparing the binding mixture and fixing the tree in the pot

The time has come to “plant” the resulting tree in a pot. To do this you need:

  • Stepping back from the edge of the pot about 2.5 cm, put a mark - the mixture will be poured to this level. If there is a hole at the bottom of the pot, you need to close it with tape or hot glue.

  • Dilute the mixture according to the manufacturer's instructions and fill the pot with it.
  • Level and secure the topiary in the pot, holding its trunk until the mixture hardens.
  • Leave the mixture overnight or a day until completely dry.

Hint: As already noted, it is best to use alabaster as a binder mixture. To fill 1 medium pot, you need to dilute approximately 1 kg of alabaster with 600 ml of water. The mixture is kneaded for about 1-2 minutes until the consistency of thick sour cream, and then quickly poured into the pot and the topiary is fixed in it for 2-3 minutes.

Hooray! The topiary is almost ready, all that remains is to create an imitation of soil in the pot and disguise the fixing mixture. If you are using sisal fiber (see photo), shells, artificial grass or moss, they need to be secured with a small amount of glue.

Master class 1. Corrugated paper topiary

Topiary with paper flowers is especially suitable for decorating a holiday table or festive interior design. For example, this rose topiary was made for Valentine's Day.

Materials:

  • Base ball with a diameter of 12 cm;
  • Corrugated (creped paper) of medium density (in the master class we use corrugated paper in the form of a tape, but you can use regular rolls);
  • Floral foam bars and/or any fixing mixture (see basic instructions);
  • A flowerpot or flowerpot for the base of a topiary;
  • The trunk is about 30 cm long;
  • Dry moss for pot decoration;
  • Ribbon for trunk decoration;
  • Glue gun.

Step 1. Cut the corrugated paper into strips 60 cm long and approximately 4.5-5 cm wide. If the paper is too thick and stiff, knead the strips a little to make them more flexible.

Step 2. Now you need to roll the resulting ribbons into rosebuds. This is done very simply, just a couple of workouts are enough and the principle becomes clear. Take one of the resulting paper strips and fold it 1/3 as shown in the photo below.

Then fold one end of the ribbon diagonally at a 45-degree angle and begin rolling it into a log. After three turns you will have the core of the bud. Now wrap the free end to the outside, and continue to roll the core of the rose - voila, you have the first petal.

Step 4. Once the crown is completely covered with roses, attach the trunk to it (see Basic instructions). In this master class, the barrel was pre-painted white with spray paint.

Step 6. Place dry moss on the “soil” and glue it in some places with thermal glue. Finally, tie a bow on the trunk.

The following selection of photos presents other topiary design ideas that you can make with your own hands using this master class, not only from corrugated paper, but also from satin ribbons, silk paper, etc.

By the way, you can make not only roses from paper, but also lush peonies or hydrangeas. Methods for making such flowers are easy to find on the Internet.

We looked at how to make a trunk and how to decorate a pot for a topiary, and today I will tell you in detail and show you what and in what ways you can make flowers for a topiary. Let’s immediately say that there are a huge variety of techniques for creating flowers; if I were to describe each of them, the master class would turn out to be simply immense! In addition, each craftswoman has her own individual approach to this painstaking, but very pleasant creativity. For this reason, I will describe only a few of the most popular ways to make flowers for topiary.

The first thing I will do is divide the production of flowers into the main materials that are used for this:

  1. corrugated paper
  2. from paper napkins
  3. from colored paper
  4. from satin ribbons
  5. from foamiran

How to make roses from corrugated paper

  1. To begin, take some soft pink corrugated paper and cut it into strips 5 cm wide and 40 cm long. Now we make a corner on top;
  2. Bend the corner again;
  3. Now we take this double-folded corner in the middle and bend it upward with our right hand as if we were twisting a candy wrapper. And hold the top of the resulting loop with the finger of your left hand;

  4. We move the thumb of our left hand to the middle and, holding it so that nothing gets unraveled, bend it again with our right hand, first down, then up;
  5. We make such a “pigtail” until the end of the tape;
  6. We carefully wrap the remaining paper;
  7. Let's hide this squiggle;
  8. We decorate the rose: starting from the place where our twist is hidden, we roll it into a pipe;
  9. Secure with threads and fluff the rose;
  10. Thus, you need to make the intended number of flowers.

Roses made from paper napkins

  1. We take snow-white paper napkins, you can stock up on any other solid shades.
    Unfold several napkins into a stack and cut them into four squares.
  2. Next, using a barbecue stick, twist the corner of one quarter of the napkin inward. We twist it loosely so as not to complicate your work in the next step. Twist the napkin until it's a little more than halfway.
  3. Then we move the ends of the resulting tube, aiming for the center of the stick. The result is folds.
  4. Thus you need to make 9 petals.
  5. We crumple pieces of napkins into a drop, wrap them in a quarter of a napkin - you get a bud;
  6. We wrap the petals with thread.
  7. The result should be pretty flowers.

Spiral paper flowers:

  1. Cut out a circle from a sheet of colored paper or cardboard. The size of the flower depends on the diameter of the circle. Draw a spiral from the center to the periphery.
  2. Please note that the space between the turns of the spiral is equal to the width of the petals.
  3. Carefully cut out the spiral.
  4. By twisting the spiral, starting from the outer edge, we make a bud.
  5. Leave the last two turns unused; they will hold the flower together so that it does not come apart.
  6. Apply hot melt glue or other instant glue to the free end of the spiral and attach the flower to it.
  7. Here we have such a charming flower. If you make, for example, 40 of these flowers, or even more, and decorate the crown of the topiary with them, you will get a wonderful tree.

Satin ribbon flowers:

1 2 3
  1. Let's take burgundy and peach colored ribbons. Cut the specified number of squares (they will be needed for the petals). Stack the squares and cut out the silhouette of a petal;
  2. Using a lighter or candle, melt the edges so that they curl slightly. This way the petals look more natural;
  3. For one rose you need 7-9 petals, and maybe more if you want to make a more magnificent flower.

4 5 6

For the bud, take a narrow beige ribbon, we need a piece of about 15 cm. Bend the top corner down at an angle of 90 and roll it into a roll in 2-3 turns, as shown in photo No. 2-5. The bud that needs to be made in the end is visible above in photo No. 6.

1 2 3
4 5 6
  1. We make a rose from burgundy petals. First level of 3 petals;
  2. The second one, you need to make it from 5 petals, and then as you want;
  3. Sew the petals at the base;
  4. We add more petals so that our flower turns out luxurious.
  5. The end result is a beautiful, blooming rose.
  6. We free the base of the flower from everything unnecessary, but only so as not to damage the place where the petals were sewn. Don't forget to melt the cut edges with a lighter or candle flame.

Here's what happened as a result:

Foamiran flowers:

1 2 3
4 5 6

  1. Foamiran is a decorative colored foam, it is soft and thin. Crafts made from this foam look very attractive, which is why it is especially appreciated by needlewomen.
  2. Draw out a template of a five-leaf flower. Using the tip of the scissors, we trace the template along the contour on the foamiran sheet (pressing without unnecessary force),
  3. We cut the blanks,
  4. Now let's start forming the flowers. To do this, I used a homemade device, which is made of a metal ball on a leg, which in turn is inserted into a stingless soldering iron;
  5. The first way to form flowers: on a flat surface with a round “iron” I heat each petal;
  6. Second method: protect your left hand with flannel folded in 4 layers so as not to get burned. Something like a hole is formed, we put the flower blank into it and with my right hand I lean a round “iron” against it. Hold it like this for a couple of minutes so that the foamiran warms up.
  7. On the right is the flower obtained using the second method; I did not influence it anymore. If the flower is heated longer, the color inside will be more intense and the edges will melt more, resulting in smoother cuts. On the left is a flower made using the first molding method.
  8. Folding the petals, I slightly held them in this position. The foamiran will cool quickly and the shape will be fixed. Now it can be a bud or a single flower, or the inner row of petals of a lush flower.
  9. These flowers can be used to decorate everything - from gift bottles to greeting cards. Well, how can we do without such flowers when making topiary?

At the end of the article, I want to remind you about such popular materials as beads, felt, polymer clay, multi-colored holiday ribbons and even deflated balloons! Everything will come in handy and will be used when creating your masterpiece, so go for it! And if you develop your own unique way of folding flowers, you can, if you want, share it with us below in the comments!

Good luck in your creativity!

In the interior you can often find a homemade topiary or a tree of happiness, which attracts good luck, financial wealth and good mood.

Topiary in a mug

How to make a tree of happiness with your own hands? Everything is very simple. To do this you will need the following set of materials, namely:

Master class: DIY tree of happiness in a mug

Let's prepare necessary materials:

  • a ball-shaped piece of polystyrene foam;
  • a beautiful mug;
  • artificial flowers;
  • a wooden stick or a regular pencil;
  • decorative ribbons for winding the barrel;
  • ball. It should be the same diameter as the mug;
  • some artificial moss or grass.

Wrapping pencil with tape and insert it into the ball. Alternatively, you can fix it using polyurethane foam in a mug.

Next, you need to insert and artificial flowers so that there are no empty spaces. After this, the finished crown is strung onto the trunk. Decorative moss or grass is used as decoration. Also, in addition, you can plant an artificial butterfly on the edge of the mug.

Photo of a tree of happiness with your own hands from corrugated paper. This topiary is made according to the same principle as topiary in a cup. Only to decorate it, instead of artificial flowers, you can use flowers made of multi-colored corrugated paper.

How to make a coffee tree?

Topiaries made from aromatic plants are very popular. They serve not only to decorate the interior, but also to fill it with aroma. Happiness trees made from coffee beans are very popular.

To make such a tree you will need the following materials:

  • roasted coffee beans - 100 gr.;
  • sippy cup;
  • whitewash brush;
  • blank in the shape of a plastic ball. The optimal diameter of the ball is 8-9 cm;
  • scissors;
  • brown threads;
  • two rubber bands for money;
  • universal colorless glue;
  • sand, gypsum or cement - 200 g;
  • branch or stick 20 cm long and 1.5-2 cm thick;
  • twine 50 cm.

Coffee Tree Making Guide

Using scissors, you need to make one hole in the plastic blank.

Let's sort it out whitewash brush on strands.

Attach the strands to one end of the branch. For these purposes we use an elastic band for money. Coat the future “trunk” with glue and glue it in a spiral threads. You can secure the thread at the other end of the stick with an elastic band.

We glue the ball-shaped blank with brown threads. You can also take fibers from poplar fiber for these purposes.

Using super glue, liquid nails or a glue gun, glue the ball with the first layer grains.

Tip: it is best to glue the grains in a chaotic order. Glue must be applied directly to each grain and quickly glued to the workpiece. All work must be carried out in a well-ventilated area.

The second layer is done in the same way.

Create an original one tree pot. To do this you will need strands from the brush. We coat the bottom of the container with universal glue and place it on the strands laid out on the table. Threads that protrude beyond the edges must be trimmed.

We cut the strands of the brush. They should be 3 cm longer than the height of the container. Next, you need to apply glue to the glass. Moreover, the glue is not applied to the entire surface. You should leave 2.5-3 cm on top. Next, the container is glued with strands prepared in advance. After this, it is tied at the bottom with twine, and the excess is cut off. It is also necessary to trim the strands from above. As a result of this, the threads should rise two centimeters above the glass.

Pour into a container filler. This could be sand or gypsum. You can also use polyurethane foam for these purposes. Next, you need to move the strands at the top and place a funnel with a barrel on the container.

The container should be tied at the top twine.

Finally, you can place a few coffee beans near the barrel. You can also lay moss at the base of the composition and place an insect on the crown.

Flat coffee topiary

To create such a flat coffee topiary with a magnet, you need to stock up on the following materials:

Step-by-step instruction

The first thing you need to do before starting work is to turn on heat gun so that it warms up.

While the heat gun is heating up, you can do blanks. To do this, you need to draw a circle and a pot on cardboard and cut out these details using scissors.

Assembling the tree parts. Crown and pot connect using a flat stick. To do this, you need to insert the stick into the cardboard blank so that it is between two layers of paper.

To fix the parts together we use glue.

The workpiece must be glued burlap on both sides.

Tip: the burlap on one side should be equal to the diameter of the workpiece, and on the other side - slightly larger. This way you can hide the ends of the cardboard and the tree will look beautiful from behind.

Improvised potty decorate as well as the crown.

We glue it on the back magnets.

Decorating the crown coffee beans. They are attached with glue along the edges of the workpiece. Moreover, the grains should be arranged with the cuts downwards.

We glue the next row so that the grains are arranged with the cuts facing up. We alternate subsequent rows in the same way as the first and second rows.

To give the crown volume, it is necessary to glue several layers in its central part.

Finally, you will need to glue decorative ribbons and lace.

Topiary - tree of happiness made of boxwood

To make this decoration you will need the following materials:

  • boxwood branches. Both artificial and natural branches are suitable for topiary;
  • decorative container;
  • artificial flowers;
  • a little moss;
  • filler. In our case it will be gravel;
  • wire.

Step-by-step instructions for making topiary - the tree of happiness

Inserted into the workpiece boxwood branches so that there are no voids.

The branches that will serve as the trunk must be tied wire.

A hole is made in the spherical blank and the ball is placed on the barrel.

A layer of moss must be placed on top of the gravel.

The crown can be decorated with artificial flowers.

DIY money topiary

Topiary can also be made from artificial paper money. Such decoration can attract financial well-being to its owner. Making such a money topiary with your own hands is not particularly difficult.

For manufacturing you will need the following materials:

Step-by-step instruction

Decorating the pot. Colors the upper part, about one or two centimeters. For these purposes, it is best to use acrylic paint. Cover the rest of the pot with twine. For these purposes, apply a thin layer of glue over the entire surface using a toothpick. The end of the twine is securely fixed with glue.

The basis for the crown we make it from old newspaper and thread. To do this, simply crumple newspaper sheets and wrap them with thread. In our case, the workpiece is about 10-11 cm in diameter. In order for the ball to be durable, it must be coated with PVA glue. After the glue has dried, you need to make a hole three to four centimeters deep in the workpiece.

12-15 skewers need to be tied together. Their number depends on the diameter of the paper blank. We tie the skewers on both sides with thread. Using a hot glue gun, pump hot glue into the hole and immediately insert the tied swords there. After the glue has dried, you can begin wrapping the trunk with twine. During the wrapping process, coat the barrel with glue. We fix the ends of the twine.

Napkins or newspapers must be torn into pieces. PVA glue is mixed one to one with water. Next, one or two layers of the adhesive mixture are applied to the newspaper blank so that the threads and newspaper are not visible.

Let's do gypsum mortar and pour it into the pot. There should be about one centimeter left to the top edge of the pot. The trunk must be installed in the center of the pot. If necessary, hold the barrel with the workpiece until the mixture hardens. This process takes about 15-20 minutes.

While the plaster hardens, you can make blanks from artificial banknotes. To do this, they need to be cut in the shape of a circle. To make disks you will need artificial money measuring 15.5x6.5 cm. On average, our ball will need 17-18 disks. The paper blanks must be folded in the form of an accordion with a width of about one centimeter. We tie the resulting accordion in the middle with a ribbon, and glue its ends on both sides.
