Crochet hedgehog description. Knitting and crocheting a hedgehog: patterns and description. Knitting patterns for all Smeshariki

This hedgehog I decided to tie from leftover wool yarn. For the body, head and legs, "Village" yarn was used. To be honest, there were doubts whether I did the right thing by starting to knit with yarn that is more suitable for knitting socks than for toys. But the hedgehog turned out to be very warm, heavy (even without using a weighting agent), as if alive. In addition, this knitted hedgehog It turned out in the style of vintage toys, which are so popular lately.

To knit a hedgehog we will need the following materials and tools:

Materials and tools for knitting.

  • Yarn: “Village” in two colors (natural dark and harsh), a little black yarn for knitting the nose and brown yarn for the “fur coat” (the thickness should be approximately the same as “Village”).
  • Hook No. 2.
  • Eyes on the leg for soft toys. Diameter = 10 mm.
  • Filler.
  • Scissors.
  • Needle and thread for sewing parts.
  • If you want to knit the same striped scarf, you will need knitting needles and yarn of two colors.

Knitting a head.

We start knitting the hedgehog's head from the nose, using black yarn.

Add a little filler to the empty space and knit decreases until the hole is completely closed.

Knitting the body of a hedgehog.

We knit the body of the hedgehog with "Village" yarn in a natural dark color.

1st row:

2nd row:(increase) x 6 times (12).

3rd row:(1 sc, increase) x 6 times (18).

4th row:(2 sc, increase) x 6 times (24).

Row 18:(3 sc, decrease) x 6 times (24).

Row 19: 24 sc.

Row 20:(2 sc, decrease) x 6 times (18).

Knitting paws (4 parts).

The arms and legs of the hedgehog are knitted according to the same pattern. For the handles we knit all the described 12 rows, for the legs - only 10, and then sew up the hole. We don’t stuff the legs, we flatten the part with our fingers, and tighten it with threads, forming fingers.

1st row: We close 6 sc into a magic ring (6).

2nd row:(increase) x 6 times (12).

3rd row:(3 sc, increase) x 3 times (15).

4-5 rows: 15 sc.

6th row:(3 sc, decrease) x 3 times (12).

Rows 7-9: 12 sc.

10th row:(2 sc, decrease) x 3 times (9).

Rows 11-12: 9 sc.

Decrease until the hole is completely closed.

Knitting a hat (needles on a hedgehog's head).

To knit a hat, it is better to use fairly bulky melange (sectional) yarn. I didn’t have one like this at the time of knitting, so I knitted it in two threads: 1 - voluminous brown, 2 - sectional thin. I used hook number 3.

1st row: We close 6 sc into a magic ring (6).

Starting from the second row, we will knit with long (elongated) loops. Let's consider the process of knitting such a loop. Insert the hook into the first loop of the row, wrapping it behind the working thread on the right side. We grab the thread that comes down from the finger and pull it through the loop of the row. There are two loops on the hook. Grab the working thread and pull it through 2 loops. Remove the loop from your finger. Long loops knitted in this way will be located on the wrong side.

2nd row: we knit 2 long loops into each loop of the previous row, i.e. we make increments (12).

3rd row:(1 long loop, 2 long loops in 1 loop of the previous row, i.e. increase) x 6 times (18).

4th row:(2 long loops, increase) x 6 times (24).

5 row:(3 long loops, increase) x 6 times (30).

6th row:(4 long loops, increase) x 6 times (36).

7th row:(5 long loops, increase) x 6 times (42).

8-10 rows: 42 loops.

11th row:(5 long loops, decrease (you can just skip 1 loop instead of knitting them together)) x 6 times (36).

The hat is ready. You already understand that, in fact, we knitted half the ball with elongated loops. Perhaps, due to the fact that you will knit with some other yarn, you will need to change the number of rows; it may be more or less than described. It is important that the hat fits well on the hedgehog’s head and sits tightly on it.

Knitting the back.

We also knit the back with long (elongated) loops. We knit 6 rows according to the pattern, then knit in the round without increasing. We knit another 5-6 rows, in the last row you can knit several decreases.

Assembling the toy.

  • Sew the hat to the hedgehog's head.
  • Sew the head to the body.
  • We sew the “fur coat” to the back of the hedgehog.
  • Sew on the paws.

The scarf is knitted in stockinette stitch on knitting needles, changing the color of the yarn every two rows. The nose and eyes can be tinted with dry pastels or eye shadow.

Happy knitting! With best wishes in your creativity, the author of the toy, Anna Lavrentieva.

Popular categories

Crocheted toys have recently gained great popularity among needlewomen around the world. And it's deserved! Is it possible to remain indifferent to miniature amigurumi or furry animals knitted from pile yarn?
If you consider yourself a fan of knitted toys, then perhaps the following master classes will be of interest to you.

In the modern world, there are a huge number of all kinds of ideas and fairy-tale characters that the craftswoman will want to knit for herself or her child.

Heroes of your favorite films and cartoons, computer games, even food: various fruits and vegetables, cakes and pastries - everything is within the control of the needlewoman.

Favorite character

But one of the most favorite characters among both needlewomen themselves and children remains, of course, the hedgehog. This adorable animal brings a smile and lifts your spirits, especially if it is made by the skillful hands of a craftswoman.

A knitted hedgehog will become your favorite toy or interior decoration if you knit it carefully and with love.

The hedgehog can be knitted or crocheted.

There are different levels of difficulty in knitting this toy: it all depends on the number of parts.

Necessary materials

To make a crocheted hedgehog toy, you will need the following materials:

  • a hook suitable for the yarn;
  • the yarn itself, preferably in several colors;
  • scissors to cut the thread;
  • a marker to mark the beginning of a row;
  • filler for stuffing toys, ideally holofiber.

Before you start knitting a hedgehog, you need to decide on the model of the toy, the complexity of execution, and the time required. Then you need to choose a suitable scheme with a description in accordance with your capabilities.

A craftswoman, especially a beginner, should pay special attention to the selection of a hook: it should easily pick up the thread without splitting it. But at the same time, the hook should be as thin as possible in relation to the yarn used, so that the knitting is sufficiently dense.

The yarn should be selected to be approximately the same thickness so that the toy is uniform and holds its shape well.

You need to stuff the toy as you knit it. The most convenient way to do this is with tweezers, especially when you need to place the filler in narrow parts of the toy. The filler should be located tightly inside the toy, as if expanding it. But at the same time, the holofiber should not peek out from the knitted fabric, this reduces the quality of the product. It is important to maintain a balance of padding here, but this comes with experience.

Simple toy

A hedgehog is a toy that is easy to knit and can be made by even a beginning needlewoman.

The simplest crocheted hedgehog can be crocheted in the shape of a cone.

This model consists of just one solidly knitted piece, using yarn of different colors:

  • for the nose and eyes - black;
  • muzzles - beige or gray;
  • the needles are brown or dark gray, and maybe even multi-colored.

Here there are absolutely no boundaries for the craftswoman’s imagination.

A crocheted hedgehog, like any other crocheted toy, is crocheted in the round, or rather, in a spiral. This means that lifting loops are not made at the beginning of the row.

Therefore, in order not to lose the beginning of the row, you need to mark it with colored thread or a special marker.

Legend

First, you need to remember how the main types of loops are knitted and how they are indicated in the diagram when describing the toy:

  • air chain - vp;
  • single crochet - sc;
  • Decrease is when one of two unknitted stitches is knitted - dec;
  • an increase is when two stitches are knitted from one loop - ex.

Having remembered the basics, selected the yarn and hook, you can proceed directly to knitting.

Description of a crocheted hedgehog

It is best to start knitting a toy from the spout, gradually expanding the fabric.

First you need to make an amigurumi ring with black thread to start knitting the hedgehog's nose. You need to knit 6 single crochets into the ring (sc). This will be 1 row.

The next one, row 3, is knitted unchanged, 9 sc.

4th row: Ave. in every third sc. previous row, resulting in 12 sc.

Row 5 is knitted unchanged, 12 sc.

Having knitted 5-6 rows with black thread in this way to get a beautiful nose, you need to change the thread to the color of the body, for example, gray or beige.

We knit a row without changing the number of stitches; it is better to start increments in the next row, after changing the color, so that they are not so noticeable.

To make the transition from the muzzle to the head with spines look natural for a knitted hedgehog, increases from this row should be made in each row so that the expansion of the fabric is more pronounced.

The nose and muzzle need to be stuffed with holofiber at this stage.

Having knitted several rows (approximately 7-10) with increases in each row, the head smoothly transitions into the body. The number of rows with increases depends on the planned size of the toy and the thickness of the thread.

We knit the body of the hedgehog without any increments. Let's count how many columns you have. Now you need to knit this amount for another 25-30 rows. Exactly how many rows to knit depends on the shape of the future hedgehog: you need to decide whether it should be round or oval.

Having reached the desired length of the hedgehog’s body, we begin to make decreases, knitting two single crochets together in each row, first after 4 sc, in the next row - after 3 and so on. It is important here not to miss the moment suitable for stuffing the toy, otherwise it will be difficult to do it later.

Final step: tighten the remaining hole and carefully remove the end of the thread using a needle.

The eyes of a knitted hedgehog are either attached ready-made or embroidered with black thread.

Hedgehog paws

If desired, you can tie the legs and sew them to the toy. The paws can be round or elongated. They are also knitted in single crochet stitches with thread of the same color as the hedgehog's face.

First knit a flat circle:

  1. Amigurumi ring, 6 sc.
  2. In the next row the number of sc is doubled. - 12 pcs.
  3. Etc. through 1 sbn., 18 sbn.
  4. Next, 2-3 rows are knitted without increases, then decreases are made in the reverse order, 6 dec. in every row.

If the paws are needed longer, then the number of knitted rows without increases increases. Having stuffed the paws and closed the hole, we leave a small tail of thread to attach the paws to the toy.

Knitted hedgehog

Toys can be knitted not only with crochet, but also with knitting needles.

For example, this cute hedgehog can be knitted according to this description:

Eyes can be made from beads by attaching charming eyelashes to them. They can be purchased at craft stores. To decorate the toy, flowers are used, which can be made from any suitable materials, crocheted or knitted, or simply bought ready-made.

A master class on knitting a hedgehog can be watched in the video below.

More hedgehogs: good and different!

In fact, the variety of models, shapes, and options for making knitted hedgehogs is simply amazing!

They can be knitted standing on legs vertically, sitting on four legs or without legs at all.

You can dress the hedgehog in a beautiful blouse and pants, put a knot in its paws, and attach apples to needles.

When making a toy, you can use a wide variety of yarns; for example, for knitting needles, needlewomen widely use “grass” type yarn.

There are toys that are very complex to make, and others that are simpler. Any craftswoman can choose a suitable model. There are also a great many descriptions and diagrams.

You can knit a hat for your child in the shape of a hedgehog or decorate your baby’s clothes with a figurine of this animal.

There are simply masterpieces of knitted art. Such toys will fit perfectly into the interior to create coziness, and are also suitable as a gift even for adults.

Hedgehogs are such small and cute animals! Why not knit a soft toy in the shape of a funny hedgehog with your own hands, crocheted or knitted? Such a trinket would be a wonderful gift, and both a small child and a business-minded adult would appreciate it, because who doesn’t love hedgehogs? And a gift made with your own hands is always doubly nicer. So get to work quickly!

Hedgehog in the fog

The Soviet cartoon “Hedgehog in the Fog” or “Hedgehog and the Little Bear,” as it is often called, gained great popularity among both children and adults. It was based on the stories of Sergei Kozlov. How to connect the main character of this wonderful, kind cartoon - the hedgehog?

Materials and tools

To crochet a hedgehog, you will need:

  • Yarn Samba Yarnart is gray (it is needed for the “needles” for the hedgehog) - it is sometimes called “grass” for its slight resemblance to it;
  • Gray knitting yarn;
  • Hook (it is better to have 2 hooks: thin (about 2.5 mm, match the yarn) - for the muzzle and paws, thicker (4 mm) - for the body)
  • Thick yarn needles or sewing threads and a thin needle;
  • A little white and black wool for the eyes, nose and mouth (can be replaced with yarn);
  • Sintepon or any other suitable filler;
  • A piece of bright fabric for a knot.

Of course, the hedgehog does not have to be gray; you can use brown or beige threads. Or perhaps it will be colorful? It all depends on your imagination, available materials and desire.

Manufacturing procedure

DIY crochet hedgehog diagram and description:

  1. First knit the muzzle crochet number 2.5, starting from the nose. The yarn used is gray (main) and black. There are 17 rows in total. Start with 2 chain stitches or an amigurumi ring. In this case, the first 2 rows should be knitted with black threads, each with 6 single crochets (sc), and the rest - with the main color, first adding 3 stitches (in 3, 4 and 6 rows), then 4 (in 7 and 9 ). At 12, their number increases to 30, at 14 - to 42, and at 16 - to 48.
  2. Next detail- pens. You need to use the same thin hook and gray yarn. Start the same way - a ring or 2 loops and a row of 6 sc. In the 2nd row there are 9 columns. And then from 6 to 12 add 1 column for every 2 rows. As a result, the twelfth should have 13 columns. Finish the handles by knitting another 8 rows of 13 stitches each. When the part is ready, do not cut the thread at the root, but leave 10-15 cm for sewing.
  3. 2 more details for the hedgehog- these are his legs. They are knitted by analogy with the upper legs, only there are only 17 rows, and the stitches are added throughout the entire knitting after 1 row. At the end of the last row there is a connecting column. You need to leave a thread to sew the parts to the body.
  4. Head (back). The complexity of this element lies in the use of Yarnart Samba yarn. Use a thicker hook - No. 4. You need to knit 2 chain loops and the first row of 6 single crochets, from the second to the sixth add 6 stitches in each. From 6 to 12 - 36 columns. At the end of the 12th row there is a connecting loop. There is no need to leave the thread.
  5. Torso. Continue working with Yarnart Samba yarn and crochet number 4. After 2 chain stitches and the first row containing the traditional 6 single crochets, you need to make 5 rows with an increase of 6 stitches each, then another 8 of 36 and 3 rows each of which there is a decrease of 6 columns. Leave a small piece of thread.
  6. When all the details for soft toys ready, they need to be filled with filler, and you can start assembling! First, assemble your head. Sew the back part of it to the muzzle and stuff them with synthetic padding. Make a face - eyes from yarn or wool, a mouth (it can also be embroidered or felted). Now you need to sew the already stuffed body to the hedgehog’s head, and to it - the arms and legs.
  7. From a piece make a “knot” of fabric for a hedgehog in the fog, and the toy is ready. Just look how lovely it turned out!

Curly hedgehog

“A hedgehog should be prickly!” you say. But this is not true at all. Why not make a small soft curly hedgehog doll with your own hands?

Tools and materials

To make a curly hedgehog, you need to prepare the necessary materials and tools:

  • Yarn in 2 colors: neutral (light or dark gray) and colored (for example, brown melange, as in the photo).
  • Hook according to the thickness of the yarn.
  • Plastic eyes for soft toys. If there are none, beads or even small round buttons will do.
  • Filler.
  • Needle and sewing thread.
  • Additional accessories (for example, an apple or colored yarn for a scarf).

Creation instructions

The first step is to create the muzzle. 1st row - 6 columns, amigurumi ring. From the second to the eighth - increase by 3 in one row. From 9 to 15 - increase by 6. Then 2-3 rows are knitted without changes and decreased by 6 stitches until the hole is completely closed.

The next detail is the torso. Also start with 6 stitches, increase by 6 stitches per row until there are 42 stitches in a row. Then knit 6 rows of 42 and another 7 with a decrease of 6 every other. Fasten the thread and fill the body with filler.

All that remains is to make the hedgehog’s paws. For the upper legs, knit all 12 rows, for the lower ones - only 10. It is better not to stuff the latter, but to leave them hollow, making ties where the fingers should be. Work as follows - sc: 6-12-15-15-15-12-12-12-12-9-9-9. Tighten the hole, secure the ends of the threads, lightly fill the parts with foam rubber.

Then they make needles for a cute toy hedgehog. They need to be knitted separately with long (or elongated) loops from yarn of a second color (melange). Start the 1st row with 6 single crochets, and then knit the elongated loops with an increase: 12-18-24-30-36-42-42-42-42. The “cap” of needles ends with a row of 36 loops. The number of loops may vary depending on the thickness of the yarn.

According to this pattern, using the same elongated loops, needles are knitted on the back of the hedgehog. After 6 rows are made, as shown in the diagram, knit another 5-6 rows without increases (in the last ones you can make a small decrease).

Now it's time to collect the parts. To do this you will need a needle and bobbin threads to match the color of the yarn. Sew the toy tightly so that it does not fall apart in the hands of curious children (and they may try to tear something off). It's better to do it in the following order:

  • Connect the “cap” of needles to the head.
  • Sew the head to the body.
  • Attach the second part of the needles to the back.
  • Sew on the paws.

All that remains is to sew on the eyes and nose. You can show your imagination and knit a scarf for a cute toy. For example, for this you need to change the color of the yarn every two rows.

Attention, TODAY only!

To crochet a hedgehog toy you will need:

Description of knitting amigurumi Hedgehog:

RLS - single crochet.

Torso:
Start knitting with 2.3 mm beige crochet thread. Knit in the round in a spiral pattern.

Row 3: (Inc, sc) - 18 sc

Row 4: (Inc, 2 sc) - 24 sc

Row 5: (Inc, 3 sc) - 30 sc

Row 6: (Inc, 4 sc) - 36 sc

Row 7: (Inc, 5 sc) - 42 sc

Row 8: (Inc, 6 sc) - 48 sc

Row 9: (Inc, 7 sc) - 54 sc

Row 10: (Inc, 8 sc) - 60 sc

Row 11 - 14: Sc around (60)

Attach brown thread and continue crocheting 2.5 mm.

Row 15 - 20: RLS in circle (60)

Row 21: (Decrease, 8 sc) - 54 sc

Row 22: (Decrease, 7 sc) - 48 sc

Row 23: (Decrease, 6 sc) - 42 sc

Row 24: (Decrease, 5 sc) - 36 sc

Row 25: (Decrease, 4 sc) - 30 sc

Row 26: (Decrease, 3 sc) - 24 sc

Row 27: (Decrease, 2 sc) - 18 sc

You have a “ball” that is half beige and half brown with a hole in the brown half. Pour granules into the toy through the hole, turning the body so that the beige side is facing you, and the hole on the brown side is in the center of the “back”. This way the granulate will give the toy the correct position, making it “stand” with its beige belly forward. Next, fill the hedgehog’s body with soft filler (holofiber or synthetic fluff). When filling the toy, begin to shape it into a triangle.

Close the hole on the back by knitting the following rows:

Row 28: (Decrease, sc) - 12 sc

Row 29: Decrease in circle - 6 sc

Secure the thread and cut.

Spout:
Knit with beige thread.

Row 1: 5 sc in amigurumi ring

Row 2: Increase in circle (10 sc)

Row 3: 10 sc

Fasten the thread and leave a tail for sewing

Lip:

Tie 5 sc into an amigurumi ring with beige yarn, fasten the thread and leave a tail for sewing.
Ears:

Row 2: 7 sc.

Front legs:

Knit two pieces from beige yarn.

Row 1: 7 sc in amigurumi ring

Row 2 - 5: 7 RLS.

Fasten the thread and leave a tail for sewing.

Hind legs:

Knit two pieces from beige yarn.

Row 1: 6 sc in amigurumi magic ring.

Row 2: Increase in each stitch of the previous row - 12 sc.

Row 3 - 4: 12 RLS

Row 5: 6 decreases (6 sc)

Fasten the thread and leave a tail for sewing.

Assembly of the toy:

Check that your toy has the shape of a triangle - the top of the body is at the top, the bottom has a wide base:

From below, insert a needle and thread into the body of the toy and bring the needle out under the 9th row of posts on the beige part. Make a stitch, plunging the needle in, and bring the needle out again from the bottom of the toy. Pull the thread to create an indentation. Bring the needle under the 9th row, retreating about 10 stitches from the first recess. Stitch again, bring the needle down and pull again, forming a second indentation. You've got places for the eyes.

Secure the toy's eyes in the recesses by gluing felt circles and eyes on them. Sew on the spout and sponge, and glue or insert (if the workpiece has a pin) a plastic nose onto the top of the spout. One-color eyes for toys can be used as a nose. If you have eyes with a pin, then make holes in the felt circles and deepen the pins inside the body.

Sew on the ears and paws.

Using boucle yarn, tie a sc in a spiral around the brown part of the toy, making “needles” of a hedgehog.

2: 6 arr (12)
3-6: 12 sc (4 rows)
Fold in half and sew at the bottom.
Cut the thread, leaving a long end for sewing.

Sew on the ears approximately at the level of the 15th row.

Needles
You can decorate the needles after the head is sewn to the body, or before.
Since the yarn for needles is different for everyone, we adjust the number of VPs in the chains, as well as the distance between the rows, at our discretion.

Attach a thread, knit 5 ch, sc in the next loop, 5 ch, sc in the next loop...
In this way we knit a semicircle.

We skip one row. We knit a semicircle in the other direction (instead of 5 VP, we make 6).

Skip one row again. We knit a semicircle in the opposite direction (instead of 6 VP we make 7). When the 3rd semicircle is knitted, we begin to knit in a spiral with a narrowing towards the center, gradually adding the number of loops on the VP chains (at our discretion). We knit to the very center, cut off the thread.

Dress
We knit two identical parts.

We collect a chain of 10 VP + 3 lifting loops (LP).
1: Dc in the 4th loop, 8 dc, 2 dc in the last loop of the chain.
2: 3 PP, 1 dc in the base, 10 dc, 2 dc in the last loop.
3: 3 PP, dc in base, 12 dc, 2 dc in last stitch.
4: 3 PP, dc in base, 14 dc, 2 dc in last stitch.
5: 3 PP, dc in base, 16 dc, 2 dc in last stitch.
6: 3 PP, dc in base, 18 dc, 2 dc in last stitch.
7: 3 PP, dc in base, 20 dc, 2 dc in last stitch.
Cut the thread, leaving a long end for sewing.

We sew the parts on the sides, not completely. Leave room for pens.

Knitting frill bottom of dress:
1: Attach thread, 3 PP, DC in base, 2 DC in each loop, SS.
2: 3 PP, dc in base, 2 dc in each stitch, sl st.

We knit two chains of VP of arbitrary length. We pass it along the top of the dress and tie it at the sides.
The dress is ready!

Bandage
50 VP + 3 PP. 49 DC from the 4th loop from the hook.

Rose: 25 VP + 3 PP. 4 dc in the base, sc, (5 dc in one loop, sc) *knit like this until the end of the chain.
We twist the rosette, sew it together, and sew it to the bandage.

Panties
We knit two parts.

20 VP.
1: 1 PP, 19 sc.
2: 1 PP, 19 sc.
You can take a larger hook.
3: 2 PP, 19 PRSN.
On the first part we cut the thread. On the second one, we don’t cut it off, we connect the halves:

4: 4 VP, SS in the other half, 2 PP, 19 hdc, 4 hdc in a chain of ch, 20 hdc, 4 hdc in a chain of ch, ss (48)
5: 2 PP, 47 PRSN, SS (48)
6: 2 PP, 3 hdc, dec, (4 hdc, dec)*7, ss (40)
7: 2 PP, 39 PRSN, SS (40)
8: 2 PP, 7 hdc, dec, (8 hdc, dec)*3, ss (36)
Cut the thread.

Knitting front bar:
We count 8 loops in the center.
We knit 4 rows of sc.

We knit two straps along the edges of the strap and sew them on at the back, crossing them.
The pants are ready!
