Knitting needles for elastic - No. 2.5, for the main part - No. 3

Headband:
Several rows of hollow elastic: cast on half the required number of stitches with a contrasting thread on smaller needles (I cast on 72 stitches) and then go to the main stitch. a thread.
1st row - chrome, * front, yarn over, * to the end of the row, chrome; i.e., we restore the required number of loops (144)
2nd row – knit yarn overs, remove purl loop without knitting, thread BEFORE the loop.
3rd row – we knit the front loops with the front ones, remove the purl ones, thread BEFORE work.
4th row - like the third.
At this stage we have a “hollow” (double) elastic band, with a 1x1 loop arrangement.
Then compacted elastic band 1×1: knit. rows – *knit, purl* repeat, purl. rows – remove 1 stitch, thread before work, knit* repeat.
Knit to the desired height (mine is about 4 cm).

Main part:
Knit the pattern according to the diagram, at the same time evenly increase 39 stitches. That is, 10 pattern repeats, 2 edge repeats. At the same time, at the very beginning of 1 repeat, 2 stitches are knitted together (and not 3, as in the diagram) and at the very end of the row, after the loops of the last repeat, the first loops of the first repeat are repeated for symmetry (2 stitches together). You should get 183 stitches.
Then knit the desired height (in a white beret this is 1.5 leaves).

Scheme for reducing the crown:

The diagrams show only odd rows. Designations:
vertical line - front loop;
horizontal line - purl loop;
circle - yarn over;
isosceles triangle - three loops together.

I tied the remaining loops together with thread and sewed the beret along the seam (mattress stitch).

Gerda takes with knitting needles: diagram and description

knitted beret Gerda on a mannequin

An interesting knitted model of a women's beret, Gerda, has a number of design features. Therefore, all needlewomen who want to knit it should be careful when reading the diagram with a description.

Gerda's beret is attractive with its combination of braids crossed in different directions. This means it is suitable for cold weather.

Prepare:

  • yarn - 2.5-5 skeins depending on the weight and thickness of the thread
  • knitting needles - circular or scarf nos. 3,5 and 5, auxiliary of any diameter

Operating procedure:

  • tie the control fabric with an elastic band and the main pattern to accurately determine the required number of loops for casting on and in the place where the braids are knitted,
  • perform a 3x3 elastic band to a height of 4-4.5 cm on the main number of loops,
  • move on to knitting the main pattern and expanding the beret fabric. Perform the recommended yarn overs by lifting the broaches between the loops, having previously crossed these broaches,
  • to turn the braids, use an auxiliary knitting needle, either before or after work,
  • if you choose the yarn indicated for the model from the magazine, you will get 8-10 wedges. If the other one is until 14-16,
  • Be sure to wash the finished beret in a cool place and let it dry on a horizontal surface.

How to knit a voluminous beret for a woman?

voluminous knitted beret with a pompom on a smiling girl

The volume of a knitted beret is given by the pattern:

  • braids
  • interlacing loops
  • looseness of knitting elastic

And also the secret lies in the thickness of the thread. The larger it is and the looser you sit on thick knitting needles, the looser and more voluminous the beret will be.

There are two ways to knit such a headdress:

  • vertically from bottom to top without seam
  • separate dome and trim, which are sewn together

Let's consider the second option for a head volume of 56 cm. It will also be of interest to beginning needlewomen.

  • Make a control pattern with an elastic band, knit 1, purl 2, and achieve a density of 13 stitches. x 18 rub.,
  • Cast on 91 loops for knitting a dome and knit with knitting needles No. 4-4.5 with a 1x2 elastic band to a height of 23 cm. Use circular knitting needles with fishing line or stocking needles.
  • Decrease 30 stitches evenly across the entire fabric.
  • After 5 cm, repeat the reduction of loops by another 30 pcs.
  • At a height of 30 cm from the beginning of knitting, pull the thread through all the remaining loops and pull them together, cut the thread,
  • For the binding, cast on 13 stitches and distribute them as follows: 1 edge, 1 purl, 9 knit stitches for the braid, 1 purl, 1 edge,
  • Cross the braid loops at a height of 9 rows,
  • When the binding is equal to the circumference of the head, connect the loops of the last row with the first or close them and sew,
  • Sew the binding to the dome, evenly distributing its loops so that you get the same volume in a circle,
  • Wash the finished product carefully by hand in warm water and leave to dry on a horizontal surface.

A description of one of the options for voluminous women's berets is presented below:

Takes with braids with knitting needles: diagram and description

knitted beret with braids on a blonde

The women's beret with braids, knitted with knitting needles, is especially popular. The craftswomen are so inventive that they have come up with a lot of variations for it with crossed loops:

  • straight braids along the entire canvas in the amount of 9-12 pcs.,
  • originating from elastic loops,
  • with branches and turns,
  • with expansions and contractions of fabrics with braids,
  • with vertical arrangement,
  • present only at the inlay.

Summer openwork beret with knitting needles: diagram and description

knitted openwork summer beret on a woman

In the hot season, a woman's beret is also relevant. Choose an openwork pattern for it and knit it with knitting needles made of natural thread, for example, 100% cotton.

Bake:

  • openwork elastic band
  • crochet

The width and height of the beret's dome can vary depending on your preferences. Most likely you won’t want to knit it too fluffy, so 6-8 repeats of the pattern are enough.

Mohair beret with knitting needles: diagram and description

ready-made women's beret made of mohair, knitted

A mohair beret turns out to be warm, looks elegant and not boring. This thread gives airiness to the product, but if you choose an openwork pattern, it may get lost. That is, there will be a slight hint of it on the beret.

The simplest knitting is relevant for a mohair beret - stockinette stitch. Therefore, if you are just planning to pick up knitting needles and knit yourself a headdress, feel free to take mohair threads.

The procedure is simple:

  • tie the binding with a 2x2 elastic band to a height of 5 cm,
  • in the last row, increase the number of loops by 30%,
  • knit a straight fabric to a height of 23-25 cm,
  • divide the loops into 6-7 or 8 equal wedge parts,
  • in each or through a row, knit 2 loops together at the end of each wedge,
  • Pull 6-7 or 8 final loops with thread.

Beret with English elastic knitting needles: description

knitted women's beret with English elastic band on a mannequin

English ribbing is simple to knit, and the finished product with it is voluminous and cute. Another plus is the speed of knitting, which beginner knitters will also appreciate.

The peculiarity of knitting a beret with this pattern is to work on 2 knitting needles and then sew the product together.

Prepare:

  • 1-2 skeins of yarn. The smaller the footage, the greater the consumption will be,
  • knitting needles with a thickness equal to the diameter of the thread and 1 set, which is one and a half sizes larger,
  • scissors
  • needle or hook

Description of work:

  • Having measured the volume of the head and knitted a control sample to determine the future dimensions of the beret, cast on loops and connect them into rings, stretching the penultimate loop through the outermost one,
  • knit with a 1x1 elastic band no less than 3 cm,
  • add 25-30% of stitches in the last row of ribbing so that there is no hole left from the yarn overs. The best way is to pull from the loops of the bottom row,
  • continue working on knitting needles of larger diameter, making an English rib pattern,
  • after 13-15 cm from the place where the binding passes into the dome, switch to knitting a regular elastic band and gradually decreasing the loops,
  • Pull the final 7-10 loops with thread,
  • Sew the finished product with a needle or crochet.

The diagram for making English elastic on knitting needles is below.

Beret with knitting needles: diagram

pale blue knitted beret with leaves and a scarf to go with it

The leaf pattern looks cute on a woman's beret and is suitable for both warm summer and cold autumn days.

Of the nuances when choosing leaves as the main pattern for knitting a beret, we note:

  • combine them with braids on the trim or as stems on the main beret fabric,
  • carefully calculate the number of loops so that each pattern repeat is visible on the finished product and does not suffer when the bottom loops are shortened,
  • if you like berets with minimal volume, knit 7-8 repetitions of the pattern, if with maximum volume - 10-12,
  • when knitting the bottom, switch to knit stitches or select patterns for smaller leaves,
  • The center of the bottom of the beret, made in the shape of flower petals, looks original.

For inspiration, look at several leaf patterns shown in the pictures below.

Takes with garter stitch knitting needles: diagram

the bottom of a knitted beret in garter stitch

Garter stitch is perhaps the simplest and most understandable for a needlewoman of any training and experience.

To make your beret look especially interesting, take jacquard yarn.

Of the convenient features of knitting berets in garter stitch, we designate:

  • work on two needles
  • identical knitting loops of the main fabric
  • smooth edges without curling
  • sufficient knitting density for a winter model

The scheme for creating a garter stitch beret looks like this:

  • after casting the required number of headband loops, knit the first row with knit stitches, and then 5-7 cm with a 2x2 elastic band,
  • Purl the last row, among which raise new 28-30 loops,
  • continue working in garter stitch for another 8-10 cm,
  • divide all the loops into 6 equal wedge parts and mark them with markers, for example, black thread,
  • at the beginning and end of each wedge, knit 2 loops together, reducing the total number of loops by 12 pcs.,
  • repeat decreases every 2 rows after the one in which the loops were knitted together,
  • knit the final 12 stitches a couple more centimeters without decreasing in garter stitch,
  • pull them together with thread and continue to sew the product from the crown to the rim.

Takes fans with knitting needles: diagram and description

women's beret knitted with a fan pattern

Needlewomen often name the same pattern in their own way. For example, one person’s fans are another’s peacock tail. What they have in common is the design on the product. By the way, a beret with such a pattern will suit you for a warm spring or autumn.

Like the “leaves” pattern, the “fan” pattern has a repeat - the number of loops on which it is knitted. Therefore, focus on it and carefully form the total number of beret loops.

The peacock tail pattern looks like this:

samples and patterns of the “fan” or “peacock tail” pattern

The procedure for knitting a beret is as follows:

  • tie with an elastic band 1x1 5-6 cm,
  • evenly increase by a third the total number of loops of the future beret,
  • continue working with the peacock tail pattern, performing 7-9 repeats,
  • upon reaching the height of the product, when you have knitted 8 fans, break the fabric into wedges and begin decreasing at the end of each of them,
  • after completing 6 more fans, tighten the remaining loops with thread,
  • if you worked on 2 knitting needles, crochet the fabric,
  • Wash the beret in warm water, put it on a plate and leave until completely dry.

A detailed diagram and description of knitting a beret with fans is presented in the picture below.

Takes Nako (Nako) with knitting needles: description

women's knitted Nako beret, decorated with a flower brooch

The original appearance of the beret, as well as the knitting order, will appeal to skilled needlewomen.

In Nako, you first knit the dome from the middle of the fabric, and then the headband, sewing it on or picking up stitches from the finished part of the headdress.

Description of work:

  • cast on 16 loops and knit, in addition to the edge stitches, 3 purl stitches, 8 knit stitches, 1 knit stitch, 1 purl stitch, 1 knit stitch,
  • all even rows - according to the drawing,
  • starting from the 3rd row at the end after the purl, add a yarn over,
  • continue to work the extension after the purl stitch at the end of the row until you reach 14 stitches,
  • in parallel, cross the braids every 8 rows,
  • gradually reduce the large triangle from stockinette stitch by 1 stitch in each knit row by knitting a new wedge triangle,
  • in total you should knit 6 wedges that flow beautifully from one another,
  • From the edge loops of the strip with braids, pick up loops for the headband so that there are one third fewer of them,
  • knit with an elastic band 1x1 or 2x2 to a height of 7-8 cm,
  • Wash the finished beret in warm water and place it on a balloon to dry completely.

Takes a braided line with knitting needles: diagram and description

cute knitted beret with large braided pattern

A knitted beret with a braided pattern will delight you with warmth and comfort on cold winter days. It will especially appeal to needlewomen who love braids and weaves in their products.

The pattern of the braided pattern depends on the rapport. It is performed on 4, 6, 8 and so on loops, divided in half for crossing.

And the order of work depends on your preferences for knitting berets:

  • from the elastic band to the crown
  • from crown to elastic band

There are more models of berets knitted using the first method, so we will consider it:

  • tie the headband with a 1x1 or 2x2 elastic band, 7-8 cm high,
  • double the number of loops
  • knit the next 4 rows,
  • depending on the selected repeat, cross the loops in one direction until the end of the row,
  • perform the next 4-6 or 8 rows with facial rows,
  • cross the loops in the other direction until the end of the row,
  • repeat the previous 3 steps until you start decreasing stitches. It is convenient to do this 5 cm before completing the work,
  • after knitting a row with crossed loops, knit 1 row,
  • then repeat *k4, purl 2 together. , 2 purl* to the end of the row,
  • next - knit 4, purl 2 together, purl 1,
  • after - knit 2, purl 2 together, purl 2,
  • K2, P2tog, P1,
  • K2, p2 together,
  • Knit all the loops 2 together until the fabric is reduced to 20 loops,
  • pull the loose strand of yarn through them twice and tighten well.

Additionally, if desired, decorate the finished beret with large beads or a brooch.

Knitting Pumpkin beret: diagram and description

knitted pumpkin beret: view from three sides

An interesting version of a women's beret in the shape of a pumpkin, or hedgehog needles.

To knit it, take 2 colors of yarn that combine with each other, for example, dark and light brown or purple and pink.

The main part of the beret is dark yarn, and with light yarn, work several rows in front of the bottom and all the way to the bottom.

The pattern of the beret pattern is teeth consisting of 2 knit stitches and 1 purl loop. Around the last one you will need to first add 6 loops and then subtract them.

Prepare:

  • yarn with added wool in 2 colors
  • circular knitting needles Nos. 3 and 4
  • scissors

Operating procedure:

  • tie a headband of 90 loops with a double elastic band to a height of 6 cm,
  • distribute the stitches for knitting 30 teeth and perform a row without increments,
  • on both sides of each purl, add 1 loop using the pulling method from the previous row,
  • knit the loops added in the previous row purlwise and pick them up again on both sides of the knit stitches,
  • now make an island of purls and yarn overs from the row with knit stitches, be sure to add another loop on both sides of the main knit pattern,
  • repeat the increase in fabric loops until there are 6 of them around the main purl loop,
  • now gradually knit a decrease row by row according to the mirror pattern,
  • upon reaching the initial number of loops - in this case 90, purl 5 rows, then knit a row and again purl 5 rows,
  • Divide the fabric into 6 wedge sectors and decrease 1 loop at the end of each of them. Knit the bottom with knit stitches,
  • knit the final 6 loops up 6-7 rows and tighten with thread.

To your taste, alternate the color of the yarn when knitting a beret-pumpkin.

So, we looked at the nuances of knitting women's berets in various ways, patterns, and techniques.

Choose the model you like, buy yarn and enjoy your autumn evenings! Easy loops for you!

Video: how to knit a women’s beret “Gerda”?

An elegant beret with a curly elastic band and a simple pattern with leaves will be knitted over the weekend and will become a pleasant new thing for the fall.

Size: universal, for head circumference 54-58 cm.

Smaller sizes have a looser, flowing fit, and larger sizes have a tighter fit.

The edge of the rim is adjusted by the tension of the elastic band.

You can also vary the size depending on the thickness of the yarn and knitting needles.

Materials:

  • 100 g of wool or wool mixture (150-180 m/100 g);
  • several meters of auxiliary thread in a contrasting color;
  • thin coil rubber band.

Tools:

  • straight knitting needles 3.5 mm;
  • circular knitting needles 40 cm long and 4 mm in diameter;
  • a set of double needles with a diameter of 4 mm;
  • knitting marker (or regular paper clip);
  • knitting needle.

Description of knitting a beret

For an elastic, neat edge of the elastic, we cast on stitches in the Italian way: cast on 100 stitches on straight knitting needles using an auxiliary thread in the usual way, knit one row with knit stitches, then, switching to the main thread, knit the next row with purl stitches.

We turn the knitting and, switching to circular knitting needles, knit in circular rows with a hollow elastic band:

1st round row: *knit, slip one stitch without knitting, thread before work* repeat from *to* to the end of the row. We move on to the second circular row, closing the loops into a ring: without turning the work, we begin knitting the loops of the beginning of the first circular row, carefully making sure not to twist the knitting.

2nd round row: *slip one stitch without knitting, thread behind the work, purl* repeat from *to* to the end of the row.

Repeat the 1st and 2nd circular rows 2 times (4 circular rows of hollow elastic).

After finishing work on the edge of the elastic, remove the auxiliary thread: cut one loop and carefully weave the cast-on row.

To mark the beginning of the row, hang a marker on the knitting needle and knit a curly elastic band.

1st round: *knit, yarn over, knit, purl 2* repeat *to* 25 times.

2nd round: *knit 3, purl 2* repeat *to* 25 times.

3rd round row: * slip 1 loop as a purl on the right needle, without knitting, knit 2 and throw the removed first loop over them, purl 2 * repeat from *to* to the end of the row.

We repeat from the 1st to the 3rd row 3 times, in the next row the transition from the elastic band to the main part of the beret. We knit all the loops with knit stitches, evenly adding 35 loops, knit them crossed from the broach between 2 loops (30 times every 3 loops and 5 times every 2).

There are 135 stitches on the needles.

Main pattern: we knit according to the pattern, it shows one sector of the beret, repeat the sector in a circle 9 times.

When forming the bottom of the beret, when as a result of decreases a small number of loops remain and knitting on circular knitting needles becomes inconvenient, we transfer the knitting to stocking needles.

Since the beret has 9 sectors, it will be convenient to distribute the loops onto 3 double needles, 3 sectors on each.

At the end, tighten the 9 loops remaining after completing the 44th row using a knitting needle with a “tail” of thread threaded through it.

We securely fasten the ends of the threads and hide them. To prevent the edge from stretching, cut off a piece of thin elastic elastic band, slightly stretched, equal to the circumference of the head and, using a knitting needle, thread it into the edge of the beret formed by the hollow elastic band. We tie the ends of the elastic together with a regular knot and carefully pull the knot with the “tails” also inside the cavity of the edge of the elastic.

We carry out wet processing: immerse the beret in water at room temperature, carefully, without twisting it, squeeze it out and pull it onto a lid or plate of the required diameter (25-26 cm).

Dry thoroughly (do not remove from the mold until completely dry).

You will need: 70 g each of lilac-pink, blue and pink yarn; knitting needles No. 5.

Basic pattern: 1. Garter stitch. 2. Pattern with elongated loops. The number of loops should be divided by 2 + 2 edge loops. 1st row: 1 edge stitch, “1 knit stitch, 1 yarn over, 1 purl stitch.” repeat from “to” 1 edges. p. 2 row: 1 edge. p., “Slip 1 loop, working thread in front, yarn over, 1 knit stitch,” repeat from “to” 1 edge. p. 3 row: 1 edge. p., “Slip 1 loop, working thread at the back, 1 p.”, repeat from “to” 1 edge. p. 4 row: 1 edge. st. “Knit 1, slip 1 loop, working thread in front,” repeat from “to” 1 edge. p. 5 row: 1 edge stitch, “P1, 1 yarn over, 1 knit stitch,” repeat from “to”, 1 edge. p. 6 row: 1 edge. p., “Slip 1 loop, working thread in front, yarn over, 1 knit stitch”, repeat from “to”, 1 edges. p. 7 row: 1 edge. p., “P1, slip 1 loop, working thread at the back,” repeat from “to”, 1 edge. p. 8 row: 1 edge. p., “Slip 1 loop, working thread in front, 1 knit stitch,” repeat from “to”, 1 edge stitch. Repeat further rows 1-8.

Knitting density: 17 p x 30 p = 10x10 cm.

Alternating yarn colors: 2 rows - lilac-pink yarn, 8 r. - blue yarn. 8 rub. - lilac-pink yarn. 8 rub. - pink yarn. 16 rub. - lilac-pink yarn. 8 rub. - blue yarn. 12 rubles - pink yarn.

Decreases. Decrements are made in the 4th or 8th rows, knitting 3 stitches together. Using lilac-pink yarn, cast on 76 stitches. Knit 3 cm in garter stitch, evenly adding 24 stitches in the last row (100 stitches). After this, switch to a pattern with elongated loops, alternating the color of the yarn. In the rows knitted with lilac-pink yarn, perform 4 even decreases as described above until 68 stitches remain. After this, knitting the next 4 rows, perform 10 even decreases of 2 stitches. (16 p.). Then knit every 2 sts. Knit together and pull off the remaining 8 sts with the end of the working thread. After this, sew the back seam with the same thread.

If your knitting skills are at the highest level, then for you - a pattern of a beret knitted with a braid or braid pattern. Follow the step-by-step descriptions and you will get an original headdress that cannot be found in stores.

How to knit a voluminous beret for a woman?

Voluminous berets, it seems, are not losing their positions this season: in addition to being very warm, they look better and more interesting than small hats and berets knitted with garter stitch.

With the help of such a beret it is easy to create both a classic and shocking image. An experienced knitter will master the presented pattern of knitting a voluminous beret on straight knitting needles, because there are quite complex elements here.

What you need to prepare for knitting a voluminous beret:

  • 100% mohair yarn (150 g)
  • straight needles No. 7 and an additional needle
  • cut out cardboard circles for making pompoms
  • scissors and needle (darning)

Volumetric knitted headdress

We will knit in several stages. Let's start by knitting the top of the beret. Then we will tie the binding. Let's make a pompom and put everything together into a stylish headdress.

  • As we have already said, we will knit from the top of the headdress. We put 91 loops on the knitting needles and knit the fabric with a regular 1/2 elastic band.
  • The elastic pattern is as follows: 1 knit stitch/2 purl stitches.
  • After we knit 23 cm from the cast-on edge, we will reduce the number of loops. To do this, reduce the first row evenly by 30 stitches at once. We should have 61 stitches left on our knitting needles. We will knit again with an elastic band according to the same pattern.
  • We knit 3 centimeters and in the next row we begin again decreasing by 30 loops. We should end up with 31 loops, which we knit with an elastic band until the top of the beret reaches 28 cm in height. We tighten the open loops.
  • The knitting density should be as follows: 18 rows of 13 loops equal to a square with a side of 10 cm.

Knitting binding

On the same knitting needles we cast on 11 stitches. We knit the pattern according to the following pattern:

Row 1-2:

1 purl, 9 knits, 1 purl.

Row 4:

P1, k3...Slip 3 stitches using extra needle before work. The next 3 loops are knit stitches, and we also knit them with knit stitches. The last stitch of this row is the knit stitch.

Rows 5 and 6:

1 purl, 9 knits, 1 purl.

Rows 7 and 8:

P1, k3...Slip 3 stitches using extra needle before work. The next 3 loops are knit stitches, and we also knit them with knit stitches. We knit the last loops like this: 3 knit stitches and 1 purl stitch.

If you want to knit a pink beret with a braid pattern, then knit according to the described pattern until the length of the binding reaches 56 cm (this is the circumference of the head). Cast off 11 loops and you will have a binding knitted in a rope pattern.

Pink beret with textured braids

  • To make a pompom you will need two cardboard circles (diameter - 11.5 cm). In them you need to cut circles of a slightly smaller diameter (1/3 of the diameter of the larger circle).
  • Between the circles we will place a thread folded in half, which we will use to tighten the pompom.

  • The pompom can be made colorful, using multi-colored threads. We wind yarn onto the cut-out cardboard blanks, filling the entire circle evenly.
  • Let's run scissors along the top of the wound threads, pushing apart the edges of the cardboard blanks.
  • We tighten it with a thread folded in half and carefully pull out the cardboard circles. If necessary, cut off loose threads with scissors.

Collection of parts:

  • In order for all the parts to come together in one headdress, we need to make a seam at the top of the beret and sew the smaller edge of the trim.
  • We connect the binding with a seam to the bottom of the upper part. At the same time, we perform a small assembly.
  • After all the details of the beret are sewn on, add the pompom.
  • All that remains is to wet the finished headdress and wait until it dries.

From the video you will learn one of the ways to quickly and easily knit a beret.

To knit a melange beret, you will need:

  • 200 g melange yarn
  • sock needles No. 4

The elastic band is performed according to the following pattern: knit 1. p. and 1 p. P.

Basic pattern diagram:

When making a pattern in purl rows, purl all stitches.

Let's cast on 90 loops and knit with an elastic band of 5 cm. To get a hem, we perform 1 row like this:

  • *Knit 2 with knit stitch and yarn over*. We knit 5 cm with an elastic band pattern and knit the yarn overs with a purl stitch.
  • Now let's start knitting the main pattern. We make uniform additions in the 1st row. We need to add 54 loops.
  • We will decrease these loops according to the diagram.
  • After 12 loops remain on the knitting needles, cut the thread and pull its ends together to secure it.

How to knit a beret using garter stitch: diagram with description?

If you like the classics, then knit a beret using garter stitch. Even a needlewoman who is taking her first steps in knitting can knit it.

What to prepare:

  • 1 skein of milky yarn
  • red yarn (remnants from previous knitting)
  • knitting needles
  • hook that will be used to connect the back seam of the headdress

We start by casting on 110 loops.

  • 1st row: face loops
  • 2nd row: elastic band made of 2 knits and 2 purls
  • Next we knit the purl row in accordance with the resulting pattern.
  • We knit again with a 5 cm elastic band
  • We finish the elastic with purl loops, while at the same time adding 28 loops to it
  • To get an additional loop, we need to yarn over between the knit stitches
  • After this we proceed to garter stitch. Here's the diagram:

  • As can be seen from the diagram, knit and purl loops are knitted with knit stitches.
  • The fabric knitted with garter stitch will be quite dense. This is just right for a winter beret
  • We continue to knit in garter stitch 11 cm or a little more (at your discretion)

11 cm garter stitch

The knitting pattern for these 11 cm is as follows:

  • 22 rows - milky yarn color
  • 4 rows - red
  • 2 rows - milk
  • 2 rows - red
  • 8 rows - milk

Now we’ll make some decreases: we’ll divide the fabric into 6 parts, each with 23 loops. We will tie the threads at the places where they separate so as not to get lost.

  • 1st row: we knit the front row, in which we knit the first 2 loops with one front one,
  • after that, we also knit every 2 loops to the designated thread,
  • after the thread - one front one. We will knit the remaining 2 knit stitches as one knit stitch.

  • The row was then shortened by 12 stitches
  • 2nd row and 3rd we knit a row with a garter stitch pattern
  • We do not make reductions
  • 4th row: repeat according to the same pattern as in the first row with decreases, make a reduction by 12 loops
  • 5th row and 6th row: garter stitch without decreases
  • 7th and until the end of the mating and - decrease by 12 loops

We knit the purl rows without reducing the number of loops.

The remaining nine loops are dropped onto the thread and tied. Sew the side seam

  • After there are 18 stitches left on the knitting needles, we’ll decrease by half: we’ll knit every two knit stitches with one loop.
  • We have 10 loops left that need to be dropped onto a thread (it’s easier to do this with a hook) and tied
  • Sew the back seam (again, a hook will be useful for this) with milky yarn

How to knit a Nako beret with knitting needles: diagram with description?

When you knit Nako's beret using knitting needles according to the pattern, do not tighten the threads too much, and do not use thin knitting needles, otherwise the headdress will only fit a doll.

The knitting pattern is as follows:

    • We cast on 16 loops.
    • Let's start knitting 1 row. We use the following combination: knit 3 purl loops.
    • Next we knit 8 stitches in knit stitch(we form a braid), purl 3, knit 1 loop, yarn over, and finish with a knit stitch.
    • 2nd row: knit purlwise according to the pattern.
    • 3rd row knitted like the 1st, only the last ones will be 2 knit stitches, instead of 1.
    • Then everything repeats: 5th row and remaining unpaired up to the 11th row we knit similarly to the 1st row, with the only difference that in 5th add 3 knit stitches at the end, 7th- 4 knit stitches are knitted last, 9th row- the last 5 knit stitches are added, in the 11th - 6 knit stitches.

    Cross braids every 12 rows

    • Let's start knitting 12th row d. We knit 3 loops in purl stitch, 8 in knit stitch, cross 4x4, 3 purl loops, knit 1 loop in knit stitch, make 1 yarn over and finish with 7 knit stitches.
    • In every 12th row we do crossing braids. When the desired height of the beret is reached, we will knit an elastic band from the edge loops of the braid. Let's sew a finished headdress.

When the triangle consists of 14 loops, we begin decreasing

    • Change the direction of the braid. Having knitted the first 4 loops, using an additional knitting needle we transfer them to the place of the other 4 loops. We knit the next 4 loops, and then we knit 4 loops, removing them from an additional knitting needle.
    • We have formed a triangle of 14 loops. There should be 6 triangles on the entire canvas. It is necessary to make decreases after the 14th loop. Thus, we will make a small triangle out of a large one.
    • In the large triangle we decrease the loops, and in the small triangle we add.

The beret consists of 6 triangles

How to cross stitches every 12th row?

    • We knit all the front rows with decreases in the 1st loop after the yarn over, in other words, we knit the 2nd loops together and turn the work.
    • We do not knit the remaining loops, leaving them on the knitting needles. So our large triangle becomes smaller, and loops are added to the small one.
