Women's perfume Terry de Gunzburg. Eau de parfum from the Terry de Gunzburg brand Creation of the By Terry brand

Interior decor is a great opportunity to create your dream home, embodying your ideas about aesthetics, ergonomics and comfort. By creating decor with our own hands, we put a piece of our own soul into our houses and apartments, making them original and individual. But in order for the resulting interior to look truly harmonious and stylish, inspiration is needed. You will find it on the pages of our website. When choosing the decor of a kitchen or apartment, we often strive to make it as functional as possible. However, many people forget that, for example, the kitchen is not only a place for preparing food, but also a room where the whole family gathers for friendly, warm communication. That's why the kitchen decor photos presented on our website are designed to help you make the right choice. Are there universal criteria by which you should choose the decor of a kitchen or apartment? Of course no. Each apartment, each room is unique, and therefore requires careful study of its characteristics. However, the designers have developed several simple tips for selecting optimal interior solutions: the decor of the apartment must correspond to the spirit of its owner - only in this way can it bring the owner a feeling of peace and pleasure from relaxation; it is necessary to decorate the interior based on the architectural features of the room: you cannot use an abundance of dark elements or stucco in small rooms, as well as decorate impressive rooms with small objects in the Provence style; It is necessary to select materials, decorative items and interior items based on the developed style of the room and fully suit it, otherwise a feeling of dissonance and discomfort will be created. Creating apartment decor is not as easy as it seems. But by browsing through the selection of interior design ideas on our website, you are sure to find something to suit your taste! Creating interior decor with your own hands is not only fashionable, but also very interesting! Take a look at the photo of the interior decor and you will understand what real beauty in hand-made style is. Hand-painted boxes, cabinets and tables, decorated using decoupage, original decorations and accessories for the kitchen and apartment - everything that will help you update your interior at no extra cost, making it bright and memorable! Photos of apartment decor collected on the pages of our website are a treasure trove of unusual ideas for decorating your home. Perhaps there are no more diverse options for transforming rooms than decor. It includes many ways to decorate the interior: painting walls and furniture; stone and forged elements; stained glass; carved decor; decorations made of macrame and hand embroidery; flower arrangements and much more. Decor doesn't have to be expensive. To update, for example, a living room, it is enough to replace the textiles (curtains, rugs, tablecloths), decorate the walls and shelves with a couple of new decorations (paintings and figurines) of a similar style to the textiles, and instead of the usual wooden coffee table, use a funny pouf in a catchy shade - “ alive” and the colorful interior is ready. Decorative elements in the interior occupy a dominant position. The smallest details can radically transform a space. That is why it is so important that the surrounding decor is pleasant for you and makes you feel comfortable. Find inspiration, create and have fun with us.

The Unique company brought to St. Petersburg the genius of the beauty industry and color guru - Terry de Ginzburg. The meeting took place on November 30, 2017 in the main store of the city - DLT.

If you just asked yourself the question “who is this?”, then you are definitely an amateur in the world of beauty and makeup artistry. Fans of the brand and makeup artists of our city gathered at DLT to learn everything about perfect makeup from the creator himself. Terry de Ginzburg came to St. Petersburg for the first time to personally present new products and talk about the brand’s bestsellers.

Terri was born in Egypt, grew up in Paris and now lives in my favorite city - London. She is married to a biologist with Russian, or rather, St. Petersburg (!) roots.Medical education and a passionate love of art made Terry not just a talented makeup artist, but a brilliant creator of cosmetic masterpieces.

She is called the Steve Jobs of the beauty industry - she, being the creative director of the Yves Saint Laurent Beauty line for 15 years, created the best-selling TOUCHE ÉCLAT in 1992, giving freshness and radiance to the skin of millions of women. Working on her iconic images with legendary fashion photographers Helmut Newton and Guy Bourdin, she became a legend herself. Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, W Magazine write about her, not to mention Elle, Vogue and other glossy beauty monsters.

Terry de Ginsburg founded her brand By Terry in 1998 as an exclusive haute-couture cosmetics line. And already in 2004, he created the Rolls Royce of lip balms - Baume de Rose - one of By Terry's most successful products. So if you dream of a Rolls Royce, but your finances don’t allow it yet, then you can quite please yourself with a jar of Madame Terry’s precious composition.

At a meeting at DLT with fans of the brand, Terry shared her makeup secrets and even held an open master class. The experimental cat turned out to be the wonderful and undoubtedly lucky Olya Petrova (@olgapetrova) - an equally talented makeup artist (Olya worked with many glossy magazines and with Patrick Demarchelier himself, she opened her own school in St. Petersburg, and now you have the opportunity to learn the art of makeup at @olyapetrovamakeupschool ). Olya got makeup in the style of “French chic” and impeccable red lipstick number 17 - without unnecessary yellow, brown or blue pigments. While working with Yves Saint Laurent, Terry de Ginsburg created more than 2,500 shades of red lipstick; with such experience behind her, it is not difficult to create the perfect tone for herself, which resulted in No. 17.

American Vogue, in its 1933 Beauty Book, declared that applying lipstick was one of the most important gestures of the century, and Mademoiselle Coco Chanel added, “Put on red lipstick and attack.”

For Gwyneth Paltrow, beauty is feeling comfortable in your own skin, or wearing awesome red lipstick. Dita Von Teese is convinced that wearing red lipstick makes you feel better. Keira Knightley believes that lipstick is our armor: “When we were growing up, my mother had a habit: if she had a bad day or something went wrong, she would apply red lipstick. I still follow this rule.” “You have that dreamy James Dean look. And I have red lipstick, a classic thing that you like.” - Taylor Swift.

So if you need the perfect tone and the right shade of red lipstick, then you will certainly find them in the exclusively presented By Terry corner in DLT.

After the master class, an autograph session and a hug therapy session began - Terry signed posters and hugged almost everyone with such warmth and cordiality, as if she had known everyone since birth.

According to the famous psychologist, author of more than thirty books of popular psychology, Louise Hay, we need four hugs a day for survival, eight hugs a day for vital support, twelve hugs a day for growth and development. Perhaps this is the secret to Terry de Ginsburg's success! 🙂

I don't know, maybe they sprayed something in the air, but I wanted to hug the incredible Terry again and again. Oh yes, in 2012 Terry de Ginsburg, in collaboration with the famous perfumer Michel Almarac (creator of many perfume masterpieces for various brands, such as Gucci Rush 2, See by Chloe...) presented her debut collection Haute Parfum, conquering another niche of the beauty industry. Terry de Gunzburg's elegant compositions are housed in cubic, heavy glass bottles with rounded curves. You will also find these art vessels with subtle, watercolor, pastel aromas at DLT.

Terry brought with her the cosmic Garance Blanche, the chief makeup artist and international beauty trainer of the By Terry brand. Garance, like Terry, got into the world of beauty by accident, got there and disappeared in the bright everyday life of her favorite job. The next couple of days after the presentation, Garance conducted individual master classes at DLT and introduced By Terry cosmetics to those interested.

The best way to stay beautiful and look good, according to Terry de Ginsburg, is to follow your style, your beauty. Of course, it is easy for a woman with excellent taste to follow this rule. Even designer Jacques Grange, who is called a design star and designer of the stars (he worked on the interiors of Princess Caroline of Monaco and the culinary genius Alain Ducasse), when decorating the house of the de Ginsburg couple in London, noted the excellent taste of the owners. And all we can do is learn, improve and hug! 🙂

These women with sparkling eyes settled deeply and for a long time in my heart. And when you know that this cool product was also created by a person with boundless love for his work and with an immense soul, then the desire to use it becomes simply irresistible. I'm honestly worried about my wallet, because now I want to try almost everything from By Terry and Terry de Gunzburg Perfume. When dreaming of a ByTerry cosmetics basket, the first thing I'll do is grab red lipstick and perfume.

Take care and love (c) By Terry.

By the way, Terry de Ginsburg is followed on Instagram by Pat McGrath herself @patmcgrathreal (Vogue magazine calls her the most influential makeup artist in the world), Mario Dedivanovic @makeupbymario (Kim Kardashian's favorite makeup artist) and of course Tom Pecheux @tompecheux (newly-minted international creative makeup director YSL Beauty)

By Terry- a premium French cosmetics brand, temporarily left Russia, and in September 2016 an official corner of the brand was launched in GUM, where you can now buy decorative cosmetics and perfumes. The By Terry brand got its name thanks to the talented creator Terry De Ginsburg.

Biography of Terry DeGinsburg

Terry was born into a family of doctors and since childhood dreamed of becoming a doctor, she even entered college to major in medicine, but after her first year, during the summer holidays, she got a job at the Carita cosmetics house and worked there for the next 10 years.

One day, at a Vogue photo shoot, a makeup artist was needed and Terry had the opportunity to prove himself. She gave the model natural makeup that emphasized the beauty of her face, and the masters of gloss and photographers were delighted. Terry's new successful life began as a makeup artist; photographers sought to work only with her. Later, Terry De Ginsburg gets a job at Yves Saint Laurent and devotes the next 15 years of his life to it.

Terri DeGinsburg is an amazing woman, she puts her soul into the products she creates. So Terry left the Yves Saint Laurent fashion house following the master himself, but the legendary La Touche Éclat highlighter she created is to this day the brand’s top seller.

Creation of the By Terry brand

Terry, as a high-level professional, thought about creating her own brand, where she could develop makeup lines, created her own creative laboratory, thanks to which every woman could find her ideal cosmetics. This is how the French beauty house By Terry was created in 1998, which Madame Terry De Ginsbourg successfully manages together with her daughter Marillon Assued.

With a unique vision of beauty and an innovative approach, Terry draws inspiration from her large collection of art objects, which she has collected over many years. Terry comes from the southern shores of the Mediterranean, however. Currently lives between Paris and London. Her love of travel helps her feel and anticipate women's needs, stay on trend and constantly create something new.

With her fantastic talent and skills, she brings professional beauty products into everyday life that are quirky, intricate and luxurious. She creates new technologies, successfully combining ease of use, sophistication and variety of results to brilliantly highlight the beauty of all women and each individual. She is equally good at revealing her secrets to beginners and offering innovative solutions to the most sophisticated women.

By creating outside the usual understanding of color, Terry de Ginsburg made a name for herself, earning a reputation as an “artivist” of beauty. She is a designer who uses technology to achieve exclusive and creative results. She's not a makeup artist. She is more: the one and only Beauty Designer.

Vero-Doda Gallery, a place for creativity

In 1998, Terry de Ginsburg discovered an almost secret alley in the heart of Paris. This is a place where you can see outstanding craftsmanship in the visual, literary and photographic arts.

In this mysterious and truly unique place, discoveries are made, mysteries are unraveled and obstacles are overcome, all to change and bring something new into the lives of women through technology and related developments to give new meaning to the word “cosmetics”. BY TERRY opened its first boutique in the very center of the gallery, at number 21. It is in the Laboratory of High Creativity, located on the ground floor, that innovative formulas are developed and improved with the help of advanced technologies and the purest ingredients.

Skin on the face As an amazing specialist, a legend in the beauty industry, you have probably tested on yourself the main advice that dermatologists and nutritionists give to women. For inner beauty and healthy skin, you need to drink water, avoid the sun, and not react to stress. We know all this. What else would you add to this? After all, it is known that the state of health certainly affects the condition of the skin. To have beautiful and healthy skin, you need to start with...A sound and healthy sleep at night! You also need a proper cleansing ritual, using effective but gentle products, such as Purete de Rose, a cleansing cream with white rose extract that softens and moisturizes.

And, most importantly, daily skin care. It is very important. You need to nourish and moisturize your skin day and night. That's why I developed, along with makeup products, a special care line. Light balm Cellularose Baume d'Eau and rich Cellularose Nutri-Baume give the skin radiance, nourish and moisturize thanks to native rose cells.

And my last recommendation is to use makeup products that not only beautify, but also protect and care for the skin. That's why I use traditional skincare ingredients. For example, hyaluronic acid, plant extracts, anti-aging components. Absolutely all of my makeup products contain caring ingredients. Even lip liner and nail polish!

Facial skin - makeup Which of the latest achievements in the beauty industry would you classify as an absolute breakthrough in the “makeup base” segment? What does your company use? The beauty industry is constantly evolving and does not stand still. Laboratories present more and more new, even more effective formulas, amazing, amazing technologies. We now have access to incredible components. The pigments have become thinner, more delicate, and the reflective particles and corrective ingredients have become truly smart. They adapt to the skin and look absolutely natural. Fundamentally new products have appeared. And I am glad that I was at the forefront of many innovations. In 2006, I released my first foundation brush - a brilliant invention, Light Expert, which allows you to create flawless makeup, instantly mattifies the skin and gives it radiance. The byTerry philosophy combines cutting-edge scientific discoveries with the sensory pleasure of using every product. We make the impossible possible, simplifying makeup as much as possible while maintaining a pleasant feeling.

Eye area What would you advise your fans to maximize the delay of visual aging in the most sensitive area - around the eyes? First of all, you must remember to cleanse this delicate area and apply care only to cleansed skin. For example, a firming serum with a lifting effect that contains active ingredients. They smooth out wrinkles, eliminate puffiness and dark circles under the eyes, and erase signs of fatigue. You can apply the serum to both the lower and upper eyelids using circular movements from the corners of the eyes.

Eye makeup

Everyone knows that it is your company that creates the best concealers. What is the peculiarity and subtlety of applying concealer for the area around the eyes? How do you recommend combining it with a cream or gel for this area? And regarding the nighttime product: how long before bed should you use it?

As I already said, the skin around the eyes should be carefully cleansed before applying care and makeup. Then - prepare. I recommend using a primer with hyaluronic acid. Including applying it to the delicate area around the eyes. And only then - concealer. The choice depends on the goals. To eliminate dark circles under the eyes. Use Touche Veloutee concealer in a stick. It has excellent coverage and a successful caring formula. With one brush stroke, it removes all traces of age and fatigue, refreshes the look, beautifully highlighting the skin around the eyes. If your dark circles are more of a reddish hue, choose the beige tone of the Touche Veloutee corrector (No. 3). If they are more brownish, then it is better to use a pink or lilac shade (No. 1 and 2). To neutralize dark circles under the eyes, always choose a medium shade, it will be better than a light one. As for application, the concealer should be applied directly from the pencil itself to the skin around the eyes, paying attention to the dark areas, especially in the inner corner of the eye. Then lightly whisk the product with your fingers for a natural result. You can also use a small amount of loose powder to set your concealer and lightly mattify your skin, giving your makeup a long-lasting look.

To refresh a tired look. In this case, the main product is Eclat de Teint Pinceau, an instant highlighter. For fair skin, No. 2 is suitable, and for darker skin, it is better to choose No. 3 (apricot) or No. 1 (pink). The concealer formula contains the IGC complex - Intensive Glow Control - mineral prisms, reflective particles that perfectly even out the complexion. Apply concealer to the V-shaped hollows of dark circles under the eyes and spread the product towards your temples.

To even out skin tone. Touch Expert Advanced is ideal for this. It contains an anti-edema complex and hyaluronic acid microspheres. The formula of the product contains all the advanced technologies and knowledge of byTerry, the best pigments and the most valuable and rare reflective prisms. Touch Expert Advanced is an improved version of the famous Touche Eclat highlighter, which I came up with when I worked at Yves Saint Laurent. I completely rethought this tool, literally reinvented it. It's amazingly effective! You can use it throughout the day to conceal imperfections, even out skin tone, and illuminate your skin. It is best to combine this product with Sheer Expert foundation. It evens out the tone perfectly and your skin looks very natural.

Problem - enlarged pores, unevenness of oily or combination skin Speaking of your personal tips for maintaining healthy and clear skin - what is your daily ritual? Are there any foods that help your skin become more beautiful? What foods should you avoid? For skin prone to oily skin, I recommend, first of all, moisturizing. It is important to choose products with a light, gel texture and avoid products that are too rich and heavy. For example, try the new Cellularose Baume d'Eau face balm with an amazingly light texture, followed by loose powder with hyaluronic acid, it tightens pores and visibly mattifies the skin. As a tint, you can use CoverExpert if you need dense coverage, or SheerExpert if light coverage is enough. Blush completes the radiant look.

Lips What folk remedies for lips do you know? Maybe you used them as a child? And how do you feel about products that visually enlarge your lips? I love pink. Both the shade and the flowers themselves. In turn, my mother and grandmother always advised me to use rose water. It tightens pores, makes the skin soft and smooth. And for makeup, they always advised applying a little pink powder, light as a cloud. Pink powder works wonders, literally illuminates the skin from the inside. Actually, what am I talking about? Roses and pink are my inspiration. That's why, in 2004, I created Baume de Rose, a lip balm that combines luxurious care with subtle shine. This balm has become a cult favorite, the pinnacle of lip care. Baume de Rose contains pink wax, ceramides, biological extracts, and also an amazing aroma. Roses, of course! Hollywood stars instantly fell in love with the new product; they bought it by the kilogram. This year we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the iconic product and are launching a limited edition.

The last question is about the modern trend, when caring components are added to almost all make-up products. What, in your opinion, is the reason for this trend, and what to expect in the future? In 1998, when I created byTerry, there was a feeling that the luxury world was moving towards globalization and standardization, with identical products appearing that tried to satisfy everyone at once. My idea was that the same criteria - sophistication, quality, sophistication, individuality - characteristic of haute couture would be used in cosmetics and make-up. Then I opened the Haute Couleur laboratory, where colorists and chemists could work together, create new formulas and textures. From the very beginning, it seemed important to me to combine scientific experience and sensual pleasure from products, which is why I began to introduce caring components into all makeup products.

In 2014, with the launch of the Cellularose collection, I decided to prove that it is possible to add color to care in the same way as before we added care to color. This line changes our ideas about care and makeup, it carries a virtual, intangible, invisible shade and weightless coverage. This is much more than just care, it is a real harmony of color and care. For example, the Cellularose Brightening CC Lumi Serum hydrates, brightens and corrects, adding amazing radiance to the skin. Blush Glace from the same line also combines care and color, giving a stunning blush. This is the main revolution in cosmetics in recent years, but we do not stand still and move on!

A new collection of cosmetics from Terry de Ginzburg, the grande dame of the beauty world, friend of Yves Saint Laurent and Helmut Newton, has arrived at DLT. In a special interview with Sobaka.ru, she told how she is connected with St. Petersburg, why she is not against male beauty bloggers, and by what means she changed the fashion world.

It's funny that good tea in Russia is called English. I always bring your bergamot in a yellow box from St. Petersburg home to London. And I visit often: my husband’s family is from here. His great-great-grandfather served as a financial adviser in the government of Nicholas II. Somewhere in the city there is a family mansion - of course, now there is some kind of institution there. But every time I’m here, I still feel like I’m back home.

And when did it appear?

As soon as I first arrived in St. Petersburg in 1987. At that time I was still working at Yves Saint Laurent, we came to an exhibition in the Hermitage dedicated to Yves. I couldn’t imagine then that a photo of my work would one day hang in a museum. And recently, friends sent me a photograph of Touche Eclat from MoMA - the concealer became one of 111 objects that changed the world of fashion.

Maybe we have raised a generation of people hungry for short-term fame on Instagram who have nothing to offer the world?

Aesthetic cases by Terry also beg to be used in a picture. With them, makeup becomes such a leisurely hedonistic process. At the same time, the tools themselves are fast and multifunctional. Isn't there a contradiction here?

God, wow. This is the first time I've heard someone else voice my thoughts! I've really thought about this a lot. And she formulated it like this. The contradiction does appear, but nevertheless it is not there. Because both cases and the combination of several products in one are all puzzles of happiness. Happiness to feel beautiful and happiness in anticipation of this feeling. Consider me selling it. Not as noble as my chemist husband who gives the world antibiotics, but still something.

Do you take advantage of your own happiness?

Certainly! Even though I’m in the industry, I’ve never done professional makeup for myself. There is neither time nor patience. That's why I came up with such cosmetics - not for makeup artists, not for models, for normal women. Like you, me, my daughter, our waitress and the Duchess of Cambridge. A quick dab of luxury never hurt anyone, you know.

Even men? Several beauty brands have created campaigns with makeup artists and bloggers who are not shy about wearing glitter and false eyelashes.

I take their experiments with great interest. And I certainly don’t feel offended that men are encroaching on lipstick and highlighter. First of all, this is not a shrine. Secondly, it happened in different centuries (remember the eyeliner of the Egyptians and the powdered courtiers at Versailles). And thirdly, let's be honest, men see makeup completely differently. For them it is not a routine, but an explosion of pure creativity. I sometimes get great ideas from guys for Terry products.

So beauty bloggers work for the benefit of the industry?

Even those who show only multi-layered stage makeup on their account. Even if such a make-up doesn’t work in real life without a circular flash, it’s still worthy of attention. If I don’t follow the trends, I’ll turn into my grandmother, who has been lining her lips with scarlet Helena Rubinstein for half a century and thinks she did a great job.

But have you taught your five daughters to understand cosmetics?

And granddaughters too. Eight-year-old Elsa and four-year-old Victoria, when they come to visit, go straight to my cosmetic bag. At the same time, Victoria commands her iPhone “Maquillage!”, and watches all the videos on YouTube. When she learns to type queries into a search engine, it will be even more fun.

Has Google already given her your photo?

Oh yeah! The first shock has passed, now my granddaughters know that I am a little in the know. It is very important for me to be an example for them.

I think you are a role model for many in the beauty world.

It's not enough to have a model. You need to know what to do with it. Recently, at one event, a girl came up to me and breathily told me how much she dreams of collaborating with me. I asked what exactly she wanted, and the answer she received was: “I want to become famous!” This made me terribly upset. The girl doesn’t know how to achieve fame, but most importantly, she has no idea what to do with it later. Maybe we have fed on Instagram a whole generation of people who are hungry for short-term fame and have nothing special to offer the world? I hope no.

Do you gossip about it with other beauty industry giants?

By the way, yes! We are always in touch with Bobbi Brown - mainly by email and direct message, because we rarely manage to meet. It's exactly the same with Charlotte Tilbury and Mary Greenwell. We may not be best friends, but we have known each other for decades, we don’t feel any competition and we really love to chat. We are also close with Olivier Echaudmaison, and with Pat McGrath we do not skimp on mutual compliments.

But you have something they don’t have - an unfinished higher education degree in chemistry. Is this an advantage to working on cosmetics?

This advantage is to establish communication with the laboratory that produces the formulas for my cosmetics. It’s convenient when you can say that you don’t need a “velvety texture that melts on the skin,” but just an emulsion. The language of chemists is very clear, so I save a lot of time on translation.

Is it the same with Terry de Gunzburg fragrances? Do you give perfumer Michel Almerac an order for a specific set of accords?

It's more complicated here. I am not a “nose”, and, perhaps, I do not distinguish notes individually. But I can easily divide all the smells into olfactory families. And if the sample lacks powderiness, smoke or chypre, I can convey this to Michel without unnecessary equivocation. Even at the beginning of this journey five years ago, I didn’t fool him with marketing stories: this scent should be about how beautiful I get into a Ferrari at the top of the Alps. No, I just asked the perfumer to associate the flower and some association with it. For example, peony and mercury, white rose and space. I received about a thousand samples from him and tested each one for six months. Rest assured, I test cosmetics even longer!

Terry de Ginsburg is 62 years old and, according to her, she has never resorted to the services of cosmetologists. Terry gave out beauty hacks specifically for Sobaka.ru:

“I have a lot of rituals. I always start my morning with ginger poured in boiling water. It happens that after a difficult flight I add ristretto to it. My husband assures me that this is an excellent prevention of Alzheimer’s and heart problems, and I have no reason not to believe him. I eat his favorite raw carrots (which drives him crazy!), a croissant and some dark chocolate.

Then a seven-minute exercise. If time is really short, a three-minute one. Plus walking every day. I don’t have a car, and why do I need one if I can ride buses just fine with my pension card?

I never mess around with cotton pads in the evening. I discovered the daily triple cleansing system from Japanese women many years ago. First I remove my makeup with oil, then with cream and finally with micellar water. I pat my skin dry with a hot towel and hold it for at least three minutes. Then I spread a very thin layer of serum and a drop of cream over the entire face.

And on Saturdays, my husband and I have our second student year - we take excellent cheese, dry red wine and have a party for two.”
