New Year's crafts from CDs: making New Year decorations from old CDs

You don’t need much for this - an old disk, cut into pieces, and a very ordinary toy, you can take an old and already boring one. Having thoroughly coated it with glue, attach the “shards” of the disk to the surface in a random order. That's basically it. A stylish decoration that will perfectly “play” with light is ready.

However, from old CDs you can make not only a Christmas ball, but also much more.

The New Year holidays are approaching, which means that very soon a forest guest will appear in almost every home in our country. Some people prefer to put up an artificial Christmas tree, some prefer to put up a real forest spruce from a Christmas market, and some even confine themselves to pine branches. However, this is not so important, because the most important feature of the New Year tree is the toys. Since ancient times, people in [...]

New Year's crafts from cardboard or postcards

In order to decorate the Christmas tree with unusual toys, you don’t need to run around the shops looking for something that others don’t have. All you need to do is find thick cardboard at home (colorful magazine covers, old postcards, or, in extreme cases, ordinary colored sheets from a set will do - the main thing is that they are double-sided), glue and scissors.

The first thing to do is cut out 8 circles of the same size (about the size of the neck of a regular glass, maybe a little larger or smaller), and 2 more a little smaller. After this, the large circles are folded in half twice (to end up with a quarter). The preparations are ready. Four of them need to be glued to one small circle, four more to another.

After this, the pockets are carefully melted, and the two halves of the toy are glued together. All that remains is to attach a beautiful ribbon and you can hang the original cardboard ball on the Christmas tree. And if you cover it with varnish or glitter, hardly anyone will guess where such a stylish toy came from.

Cardboard balls are especially fun to make with kids. The technique is not too complicated, so they will be happy to take part in making Christmas tree decorations, and then all the holidays they will be proud of their masterpieces that have decorated the furry beauty.

Time runs inexorably forward and now white flies are flying outside the window, slowly falling to the ground and covering everything around with a snow-white fluffy blanket. However, despite the cold, my soul is warm and joyful. And all because suddenly appearing snowflakes herald the coming of the New Year. The most important holiday of the year is already very close, which means it’s time to think […]

Christmas balls made of threads

Thread balls are one of the most fashionable hand-made techniques today. Moreover, it is used not only to create New Year’s, but also everyday decor. In any case, such compositions and toys will not only enliven your holiday interior, but also make it unique.

To create a masterpiece you will need threads (you can use leftover yarn, or you can buy multi-colored skeins in the store), PVA glue and balloons. The mechanism is simple. The ball is inflated to the desired size, after which it is wrapped with threads previously soaked in glue. This needs to be done quite tightly, leaving only small gaps.

After the first stage is completed, the toy needs to be dried thoroughly. As a rule, a day is enough for this. If during this time the thread ball has become hard, you can proceed to the final stage - piercing and removing the remains of the balloon.

To decorate a thread ball, you can use any elements - beads, braid, rain, tinsel... In general, a complete flight of imagination. The same goes for “assembling” the finished composition. Thread balls suspended at different heights from the ceiling look very impressive.

Today you can find a huge number of different Christmas tree decorations on store shelves, so turning an ordinary Christmas tree into a real holiday beauty is not difficult. Holiday wreaths

A New Year's wreath is a fashionable decoration that can be purchased in almost any store. However, it is much more pleasant to make a composition with your own hands, putting the warmth of your soul into it. The material can be anything. For example, cones.

Making a wreath of pine cones begins with a base, which can be wire, willow twigs or something else that can easily be “formed” into a circle. Cones are attached to the base using liquid nails. You need to place them as close to each other as possible so that the wreath looks “lush”.

After the main part of the work is done, you can start decorating. For example, cover the cones with colored varnish and “dilute” them with small toys, rain or tinsel. That's basically it. All that remains is to find a suitable place to place the New Year's masterpiece. It shouldn't go unnoticed.

Japanese crafts kanzashi

New this season in the field of decoration are decorations made using the Japanese kanzashi technique. They can be of any shape - Christmas tree, flower, snowflakes... individually or in a group. By the way, this is an excellent option not only for Christmas tree decorations, but also as a gift, as well as elements of a holiday costume.

In their homeland, Japan, they symbolize closeness with nature. For us, they are more of a cute souvenir than something ideologically significant. To make something in the kanzashi style you don’t need much - silk ribbons and desire!

Festive headband with snowflakes in Japanese technique

Thanks to the Japanese, anyone can give joy to little and big princesses by making a wonderful headband that resembles a snowflake. It will not only complement the corresponding suit, but will certainly become the missing highlight for any New Year's hairstyle.

So, in order to make such a wonderful accessory you will need:

  • blanks from silver, blue and white ribbons (silver ones should be cut into squares measuring 2*2 centimeters, white ones - 5*5 centimeters, blue ones - 2.5*2.5 centimeters, in total you should get at least 42 squares of each color);
  • glue gun;
  • white headband (if there is a headband of a different color, it can be easily turned into white by braiding it with ribbon);
  • scissors;
  • Snowflake blank measuring 3*3 centimeters.

So, after all the materials and workpieces are ready, you can begin work.

The first thing you need to make is 6 round petals from white squares. They should be the largest, as they will form the “middle” of the future flower. Then - 12 triangular petals, also white, but they will be slightly smaller in size. Next, from 12 triangular blanks (white and blue), fold six petals consisting of two colors. And finally, the final touch of the preparatory stage is 42 small, silver petals. The edges of each workpiece must be scorched with a lighter so that they do not fall apart in the future. Otherwise, it may be an unpleasant surprise for the person for whom the headband is intended.

After the petals are finished, you can wrap the snowflake with white ribbon, attach it to the rim and, finally, collect the first petals in the “heart of the flower.” Its base will consist of 6 large white petals that need to be glued together. Under no circumstances should they fall apart! After this, you can attach a white and blue composition of three more to each petal (two white petals on the edges and a two-color one in the center). And finally, each detail should be complemented by a small silver petal, which is inserted directly into the center of the glossy ones. The result should be something like a “fluffy” flower.

The finished composition can be decorated with sparkles, beads or anything else - at your discretion. The only thing that is not recommended is to coat it with varnish, this can ruin the appearance.

Using this technique and from the same ribbons, you can make not only a headband, but also beautiful snowflakes. They will be an excellent alternative to traditional Christmas tree decorations and even a souvenir for family and friends, who will certainly appreciate your originality and warmth invested in such a gift.

Easy crafts for the New Year: candy canes

Even though the instructions are long, this craft is very easy to make.

You will need:

Felt in different colors

Hot glue, super glue or PVA glue

Ribbon or string (to hang the decoration)

Toothpicks, skewers or other parts that will act as lollipop sticks.

1. Cut one strip from each sheet of felt. You can choose its dimensions yourself, but in this example the length of the strips varies from 17.5 to 30 cm, and the width is 1 cm.

* For one lollipop you will need 6 strips. In this example, 2 stripes are used for each of the 3 selected colors.

2. Place all 6 strips on top of each other. Remember that as you roll the strip into a tube, some will start to stick out and you will need to trim them. The strip that is inside the tube will be the shortest, and the outside will be the longest.

* You can cut the strips with scissors as you twist them, or you can cut the necessary strips in advance (approximate length of each strip: 17.5, 20, 22.5, 25, 27.5, 30 cm).

3. Start rolling the strips, adding a little glue between them. Finally, make sure that the outer strip is longer than all the others. Glue the ends of the strips together.

4. Using hot glue, glue the stick to the resulting candy. If desired, you can paint the toothpick or skewer with white acrylic paint.

5. Glue or sew ribbon to the back of the candy so it can be hung on the tree.

New Year themed crafts: Christmas tree made from wine corks

To get the required number of wine corks, you don’t have to buy wine; you just need to order the corks on the Internet or in a store.

You will need:

Wine corks (26 corks were used in this example)

* Instead of corks, you can use cardboard or wooden thread spools.

* If you replace the corks with toilet paper rolls, then painting them will also give you the material you need for your Christmas tree. In this case, the Christmas tree will turn out larger than a Christmas tree made from corks.

PVA glue

Hot glue or superglue

Paints or glitter (to paint plugs or bushings)

Twine and a cardboard toilet paper tube (for the stump on which the Christmas tree will stick).

1. Paint the corks with acrylic paint or, best of all, apply PVA glue and sprinkle glitter on top.

2. After painting the corks (reels), glue them together in a pyramid (see image) using hot glue or superglue.

* It is advisable to glue one row of corks first, then another, and so on until you have the required number of rows. After that, simply glue all the rows together.

3. Cut part of the cardboard tube from the toilet paper, start wrapping it with twine, adding PVA glue to help the twine stick better. You've got a stump.

4. Using hot glue, glue the stump to the tree.

You can glue a button, ribbon, toy or paper star, or a small suitable object in an arc to the top of your head.

2. Paint all the clothespins.

3. Using hot glue or superglue, glue large clothespins together to form a snowflake (see image).

4. Glue medium ones on top of large clothespins, and stick small ones on top of medium ones.

5. Cover the resulting decoration with PVA glue and sprinkle glitter, artificial snow or salt on top. You can also use decorative snow (spray).

6. Thread a wire or ribbon through the hole in the clothespins to create a loop to help hang the clothespin.

You will need:

Small parts from old puzzles

Acrylic paint (in this example red, green and white)

Tassels

Twine or thin ribbon

Small bell (optional)

Various decorations (optional).

You can create several variations of wreaths and other Christmas tree decorations from puzzle pieces, and here are some of them:

Puzzle candy

1. First, paint a few parts that you are going to use for the craft. In this example, 6 parts were painted red and 6 white.

2. When the paint is dry, use PVA glue to connect the parts together.

Puzzle wreath

1. First glue all the parts together to make a circle (wreath).

2. Paint the parts in the desired color.

Electrical tape or tape

Hot glue

Spray paint or acrylic paint

Battery-powered electric candles

Sequins

PVA glue.

1. Glue the sleeves together to form one large candlestick.

2. Using electrical tape, adhesive tape or tape (preferably double-sided), attach the spark plugs to the bushings.

4. Prepare your acrylic paint and start painting the entire cardboard tube candle holder. Choose the color yourself.

5. When the paint is dry, cover the candle holder with PVA glue and sprinkle glitter on top of it.

6. Apply PVA glue to the lower part of the candlestick (the lower parts of the bushings) and glue it to a paper plate so that the structure holds better.

7. Using hot glue, attach tinsel or garland to the candle holder and plate. You can add other decorations, such as a toy bird, artificial berries and flowers, ribbons, stars and beads.

Package of ideas No. 1

New Year's crafts from CONES.

Here is a simple paper craft for children for the New Year - Santa Claus from a cardboard cone. It’s very easy to do it yourself if an adult helps you twist and staple a cardboard bag.

Paper cone rolls up from a regular SEMI CIRCLE made of cardboard- or not even from half the circle, but from its third ( the smaller part of the circle we take under our cone bag, the thinner and more elongated the silhouette of the cone turns out).

Glued onto the finished red cardboard cone white paper overlay in the shape of a beard(triangular shape - right photo, or oval with long fringe - left photo). After gluing the beard, glue it on top face oval(add a mustache appliqué on top of the face if necessary) – draw eyes, nose, cheeks. You can glue the legs of Santa Claus to the cone.

Such New Year's crafts are convenient to do with children in kindergarten - if you prepare red cones held together with a stapler in advance. Give children decorative options, details, glue scissors and let them turn a red cardboard cone into Santa Claus.

Here are a few more design options for the same paper craft for the New Year. In the first case, the beard is one semicircular piece of paper. And in the second case, the beard is several oval layers of paper ( and each oval is shorter than the previous one) and the edges of each oval are cut into fringe strips. Come up with your own design - with your mind and imagination - and bring it to life with your own hands.

And here is a DIY version of Santa Claus, which can be folded right away of three cones.

FIRST lower red cone(this is Santa Claus’s coat) – we glue appliques of Santa Claus’s hands onto the sides of this lower red cone.

SECOND medium white cone(this is the beard of Santa Claus) – we glue a face and mustache onto it.

THIRD upper red cone(this is Santa Claus's hat)

From the same THREE cones of different sizes you can make a Christmas tree for children.

And here is Santa Claus, made of two cones - the lower COAT and the upper FACE WITH HAT.

Craft template You can copy directly from your monitor screen if you place a piece of paper directly on the screen and trace the translucent image with a pencil. To enlarge the image screen - you need to press the Ctrl button on your keyboard, and with your other hand roll the mouse wheel forward.

And if the theme of Santa Claus and his Reindeer is to your liking, then on our website there are just such heart-warming article-lessons with master classes and templates

Well, we will continue, about the topic of cone crafts. In such crafts the cone can only be the BODY of the future character- and his FACE can be inserted into the slot on the top of the cone - as was done on the New Year's snowman craft in the photo below. A good and simple craft for kindergarten classes (for middle and older groups - children 4-6 years old).

And here is an original craft where a New Year's holiday couple is made from cones - Father Frost and Snow Maiden. Our mothers made this craft with their own hands on the forum. Very talented and skillful.

Package of ideas No. 3

New Year's crafts made from cardboard

You can use regular school cardboard. Cut out the details of New Year's characters from different colors of cardboard and glue them together. Make a SUPPORT at the back so that the figures stand vertically. Or instead of a support You can glue a box (of tea or cookies) to the back wall, cover it with colored paper, and fill it with sweets if you wish.

The craft in the photo below has a bag of sweets glued to the back of the snowman. Due to this, the figure does not fall.

You can use patterned paper in the craft - the kind that gifts are wrapped in. This way your craft will be even more elegant - with polka dots or flower patterns, like the New Year's penguin in the photo below.

Here is a compact Santa Claus made of red cardboard. You can use formiam or hard thick felt instead of cardboard.

Here's an interesting way to make Santa Claus out of cardboard - an easy-to-make children's craft

You will find many more ideas with applique in the form of Santa Claus in a special article

You can make a three-dimensional cardboard pendant for the Christmas tree using other techniques. We form a New Year's character from cardboard and colored paper. And then we glue a belly to it, which in turn we decorate with rhinestones. A semicircular tummy can be made by cutting a foam ball in half, or make from salt dough, then bake or dry.

You will find a template for such silhouette crafts in our special article

And here is a beautiful craft for the New Year for the kindergarten - a Christmas tree made of coated white cardboard. We glue two sheets of glossy coated cardboard together. IMPORTANT!!! — glue sheets of cardboard using dry glue (glue stick, double-sided tape), without wet PVA glue, otherwise the cardboard will rise and go in waves.
You can glue two sheets, or even three.

As a result, we will get a solid white plate. We transfer the Christmas tree template onto it. Trace the template with a pencil and cut it out. We sew a fluffy green garland along the edge of the Christmas tree with thread or glue it on. We attach New Year's balls to the legs of the Christmas tree, hang glass beads and satin ribbons, you can decorate it in different ways, at your discretion. We fix the Christmas tree in a stand. To ensure that the Christmas tree stands well, we weigh down the stand with plasticine, a wooden board, or a book.

Package of ideas No. 4

New Year's crafts FROM Ribbons.

And here are crafts made from textile ribbons. You can use stiff ribbons of coarse, dense material and force the craft to hold its shape (as is done with the flower craft in the left photo below). There, solid red beads also act as a rigid frame and hold the ribbon petals in a clear shape.

You can use a soft ribbon and string it onto a thin wooden skewer to create the silhouette of a Christmas tree. A very simple and quick DIY craft for the New Year.

The same idea of a Christmas tree made from ribbons can be developed and transferred to other New Year’s characters - as was done in the children’s crafts in the photo below. You yourself, with your own mind and your own hands, can create new versions of this idea - and use any creative idea from this site only as a STARTING POINT for your own AUTHOR'S IDEA.

Package of ideas No. 5

New Year's crafts

FROM PAPER STRIPES.

And here are ideas for New Year's crafts, where the basis for creative thought is a base in the form of a ball folded from strips of paper of the same length. The balls are glued to each other - we get a base in the form of a HEAD and BODY. And then the work goes on - gluing the face, hands and other elements of personalization of the craft.

In the example below, we see that two balls make Santa Claus if you glue an applique of a beard with a face and a mustache to the front ball, glue hands in mittens and fur cuffs to the sides of the body, and crown the top of the craft with a white cotton wool pompom.

And here is an example of a children's DIY craft made from strips of paper where two balls turn into a snowman due to the eyes and nose of a carrot. Two round hands and an applique of a broom and shovel.

And a cheerful New Year's deer can be made from ONE ball. Please note that next to the deer there are flat stars - they are made according to the same principle - the strips are folded into a ball - and then flattened along the equator line of the ball.

And here is the master class itself, showing how to make such a three-dimensional New Year's ball from strips of paper. Strips are cut. On each of them we find the MIDDLE POINT. We thread the thread into a needle - attach a bead to the end of the threaded thread and use a needle to pierce the MIDDLE POINTS of each strip.

We move the pierced strips apart with rays in different directions - and then we pierce the ends of each strip again with a needle at a height - at the top of the ball. We secure all this with a bead on the top and then all that remains is to decorate the ball for the character or craft toy we need.

Using a similar principle, we can create such a children’s craft-toy for the Christmas tree from strips of paper (as in the photo below).

And here are alternative designs of strip technology. You see penguins that are made of stripes but are connected into a ball according to a different principle.

And in the example of the polar bear from the photo below, we see that the head part of the craft can be a ping-pong ball or a foam ball. And in the middle, beads can be strung on a thread (this will make the craft look more elegant). Think with your head, dream with your soul - and do it with your own hands.

A beautiful New Year's team for a competition in kindergarten or school.

New Year's crafts

FROM ROLLS.

You can make a lot of beautiful New Year's crafts from toilet paper rolls. You can make elegant Santa Clauses like in the left photo below. Please note that the beard on this craft is made of white lace. And the cap on the head is sewn from fabric (you can use colored crumpled crepe paper).

But the snowmen (in the right photo below) - you can make headphones from fluffy wire brushes. Scarves are made from pieces of fabric, and real buttons are glued on.

But the craft is an angel. Very delicate and easy to make. We cover the roll with paint of two colors - pink gouache at the top, white at the bottom. For the wing we take lace paper napkin(in the absence of one, you can simply cut out an openwork snowflake from paper) fold it in half and glue it to the back of the angel.

The most interesting thing is the angel's hairstyle - it only looks complicated, but in fact - the upper part of the hairstyle is ordinary yellow paper circle, which are around the circumference fringed– these fringes fall to the side of the roll in the form of a circular bang. And then On the sides we add strips of paper, first we twist the lower part of each strip onto a pencil (or run the blade of scissors along them so that they twist themselves into a tight curl). You will find a lot of ideas for paper angels in our article.

You can also make elegant Christmas trees and crafts from toilet rolls.

Here is an interesting idea for a round Christmas tree cut from a roll. We take the roll, flatten it into a plane, draw the legs of the Christmas tree on the sides of this plane, cut them out, and then flatten the roll back into a circle. Glue on rhinestones and a star.

Or the roll can only be used as a stand for a flat cardboard Christmas tree.

Rollo also makes excellent penguins. – the rolls must be covered with thick black gouache before making the craft. And so that during application the children’s hands do not get dirty with black paint and do not contaminate other parts of the craft, we must COVER our BLACK ROLLS with HAIR SPRAY - this will make the paint shine and stop staining your hands with black soot.

You can draw familiar features of your favorite cartoon character on rolls (as was done with the snowmen from the cartoon Frozen).

Or you can decorate the craft with additional cutting elements - as was done in the example of the deer in the right photo below. Here we cut out the crotch between the deer's legs (so that these legs, in fact, appeared). And we also cut off the upper part of the roll - leaving a tail-neck - on this bent tail we will glue the silhouette of the head.

We can come up with our own designs of familiar New Year's characters. It's so interesting to pick up a gray, unremarkable external roll-sleeve and turn it into a piece of the New Year's holiday.

But here is a children's craft made from rolls, but already cut into pieces. This can be made from ordinary flat cardboard, if you roll it into a tube using a stapler and cut it into the lengths we need. A simple and interesting three-dimensional craft for children for the New Year.

And also from rolls - you can fold it like this such a beauty - a big Christmas tree. It will look good in the office and in a kindergarten group. True, the rolls need to be assembled in advance and then painted for quite some time. There won't be enough gouache - it's better to buy a liter jar of white facade paint and a bottle of green color. Pour the color into white acrylic, stir and paint with a wide brush or sponge.

New Year's crafts

FROM BARPLE.

But here are New Year's crafts, which are made from a cheap and very convenient texture material - ROUGH BARP.

Dense burlap starches well and takes on a rigid shape. It can be painted any color and folded into the rigid shape of craft parts.

You can cut out petals from starched, dyed burlap and fold the flower. You can glue the burlap onto cardboard and cut out the silhouette of an owl - add appliques of wings and eyes with a beak.

You can make very delicate, beautiful crafts for the New Year from inconspicuous-looking burlap. For example, this mitten has acquired a New Year's chic thanks to lace, beads, bells and pine branches.

A simple piece of gray fabric can sparkle in your imagination. And turn into a deer with twig antlers or a cute New Year's bird.

You can cut out stars from rough canvas by simply gluing them onto cardboard (as in the left photo below).

Or by folding diamond-shaped rays into modules from burlap and making a star out of them (as in the right photo below).

You can cover an ordinary toilet paper roll with a piece of burlap and decorate it with a red cardboard edging and an applique of colored paper. And we will get a cute craft-basket for the New Year tree. A simple and interesting work for a competition in kindergarten.

You can stretch burlap like a canvas onto a picture frame and draw a New Year's picture on it. You can safely take such a New Year’s children’s craft to a competition at school or kindergarten. It will decorate any exhibition of New Year's children's works.

And I collected even more ideas for New Year’s paintings painted on canvas or paper in a special article

FROM BOXES

And here are crafts made from ordinary boxes. SMALL boxes of tea, cookies, toothpaste, cream, medicine are suitable. For large crafts, LARGE juice boxes, shoe boxes or office paper boxes are suitable.

A nose, a shaggy tree, ears made of colored paper, horns made of thick tree branches - and here we have a New Year’s craft deer. Or stick a nose, eyes, buttons on a box covered with white paper, tie it with a scarf and put on a hat - you get a simple snowman craft.

Using the same principle, any rectangular surface of the box can be decorated as Santa Claus, a penguin, or any New Year's character.

You can turn the box into a toy snowy house.

New Year's crafts APPLICATIONS.

And here are applique crafts for the New Year. You can make small shaped appliques on rolled cardboard - as pendant toys for the New Year tree.

The simplest applique for school or kindergarten is a snowman. But it doesn’t have to be done using traditional techniques. You can show your imagination and make a snowman from non-standard materials - gypsum plaster diluted in water, or from finely chopped crumpled paper.

Children's New Year's applique craft can be multi-layered. And it doesn’t have to be done on a rectangular sheet of paper. On the contrary, a children's craft will look more elegant if done on a round sheet of cardboard. And cover the edges of the sheet with paper lace cut from a large paper snowflake.

And here are more examples of volumetric convex applique crafts. Any character that has a muzzle or face can be made in the form of a voluminous applique if a triangular DOT is provided on the silhouette of the face. You can see these darts on the templates in the picture below.

We simply cut them with scissors (we make a cut on only one side of the dart) - and then we glue the side of the dart under the cut (hiding the dart in the gluing).

New Year's crafts NAPKIN HOLES.

But here are New Year's crafts that can decorate your holiday table. The fact is that the Santa Clauses we see below are attachments for table napkins.

In the first case (in the left photo below), we make a bag out of spare paper, glue a beige face, a white mustache, and a white edging on the hat onto it (but do not make a beard). Next, we take a white napkin, fold it like a beard and put it inside the bag - part of the white napkin sticks out of the bag, reminiscent of the beard of Santa Claus.

In the second case (in the right photo below) we cut out a white circle from thick white paper (or cardboard). On the upper side of the circle we draw a face, a nose, and glue on a mustache. AND MAKE A SLIT over the straight line of the face. We fold a large red table napkin into a sharp triangle and insert the sharp end of the triangle into the slot - pull it through and get... at the top (above the slot) part of the napkin looks like a red cap... at the bottom under the beard, part of the red napkin looks like Santa Claus's fur coat.

A simple craft that your children will really like, especially since you can make several of these crafts for all the guests invited to the festive New Year's table.

And here are the napkin holders, which are made from cardboard rolls from toilet paper. Also a simple solution and a fun children's craft - for a garden or school on New Year's Eve.

New Year's CRAFTS-WINDINGS.

And here are ideas for simple children's crafts, where a cardboard silhouette is wrapped with colored threads or thin ribbons of bright colors. So you can wrap a triangle with threads, sew a couple of rhinestones or beads on it and we will get an elegant Christmas tree craft.

You can pull the threads through the holes (punctures with a hole punch) - like in the snowflake craft from the left photo.

Or thread the threads through the slits - like on the round Christmas tree decoration crafts from the right photo below.

You can combine any New Year's idea with the technique of thread winding. And get original and simple crafts for children. For example, this is implemented on crafts with a NEW YEAR'S DEER from the photo below.

The brighter and richer the color of the threads, the brighter and more festive your children's craft will be. Bright ribbons, adhesive rhinestones and stars cut out of thick foil will only add completeness to the thread craft.

And if the mother or grandmother in your family loves to crochet, then you can make crocheted New Year’s crafts - small or even large.

New Year's crafts PENDANTS.

For a competition in a garden or school, you can make a larger-scale craft. For example, a beautiful New Year's pendant.

The general meaning of such a craft is that there should be a large holding part at the top and smaller elements of the overall craft design should emanate from it on strings.

You can hang a variety of pendant crafts on a lamp or on a window ledge. Making them from openwork paper napkins for confectionery (as in the photo below) is very simple and quick.

Even from pages of scrap paper you can make bright New Year crafts and pendants. If only I had the desire and a little time. It's really not difficult. And even from the photo it’s clear how these paper modules are made and how they are assembled onto one central round piece - just with glue.

NEW YEAR'S WREATHS.

And here is one of my favorite themes for children's New Year's crafts. Children simply jump with pleasure when you offer them such a serious craft. They love the donut-shaped format and love that the result is that their work can be used as a real Christmas decoration that hangs on their family's door year after year.

In this article I will give just a few ideas to get you started. But in the future I plan to make a separate article on children’s crafts-wreaths for the New Year, and then the link will work here.

In the meantime, let's look at the basic ideas for creating the basis for New Year's wreaths. We will make the base in the form of a bagel. A standard A4 cardboard sheet will be too small in circumference. Therefore, the base for such a wreath can be cut from a large sheet of corrugated cardboard packaging - a pizza box is ideal.

If there are no large cardboard sheets (especially if you are preparing such a craft for a whole kindergarten group), then you can cut out SEMI CIRCLES separately from cardboard, and then use tape to connect them into one solid ring. So that at the place where the half rings are glued and joined the flimsy fold didn't work out we must strengthen the gluing area by slipping pieces of hard cardboard under it.

And we give this ready-made, wrapped blank to the child and let him figure out how to decorate his wreath. You can offer him templates or ready-made cut out figures and decoration options.

Or you can make pretty wreaths out of double-sided green cardstock—like these—with a bright red paper bow.

You don't have to wrap the donut base if it is completely covered with a finishing applique, as was done on the Christmas children's wreath in the photo below.

Or you can not glue the wreath ring, not wrap it, but paint it over with gouache. Dry and paste over with appliques - for example, these snowmen-snowflakes.

Also, a regular paper or plastic plate can serve as the basis for the Christmas wreath ring. We cut out the bottom from it and then decorate it according to our design plan.

Wrapping a wreath can be done quickly using thick woolen threads. Or knitted threads (made from knitted fabric cut into strips. You can decorate such a wreath with natural materials, figures made of thick felt, cardboard appliqués.

New Year's crafts made from felt.

(nice and fast).

You can make quick, bright crafts from thick felt. Here is a snowflake candlestick, it is created from a flat sheet of felt. I adjusted the diagram below to fit the size of a felt sheet of 30 by 30 cm. But you can reduce the picture to a size convenient for you by copying it onto a sheet of Word and pulling the corners of the image.

If you buy green felt in two or three shades of green, you can quickly make a Christmas tree like this with your own hands - a craft consisting of flat pancakes, which are slightly pulled together with a needle in the center (to create a wavy surface of the disk).

That is, in the center of the round felt, draw a small circle with chalk, follow it with stitches of thread - and then tighten these circular stitches (to create a bulge in the center (like a hat with large brims). We also make disks with a tie in the center - of different sizes , alternating shades of green and assembling our Christmas tree like a pyramid.

New Year's crafts from PLATES.

From plastic plates you can make not only the bases for Christmas wreaths, but also any New Year's characters. The round shape of the plate easily turns into the face of a snowman, deer, Santa Claus, or penguin.

You can cut the plate as you wish - to suit any of your plans. If a round shape doesn't conjure up a Christmas craft in your mind, change the shape. Make a semicircle - and now the face of Father Frost with a sculpted beard appears.

Cut the circle of plates into quarters - and here they are unobtrusively folded into a Christmas tree. All that remains is to take green paint and colored beads.

You can cut a truncated trapezoid from the circle of the plate and turn it into the head of a Christmas reindeer.

New Year's crafts

from a CASE from eggs.

And here are the ideas for the most inexpensive crafts for the New Year. Ordinary paper egg cassettes. Their convex rows of cells will help give birth to many New Year's crafts. Your imagination will breathe life into these cardboard honeycombs - and bright colors will give new life to old packaging.

If you work as a kindergarten teacher, then you can find this material on the first floor of the kindergarten; several large egg cassettes are thrown out in the kitchen every day. Chefs will be happy to become your regular suppliers of this creative material.

You can cut out several rows of cells at once from a cassette maker and turn them into a bright Christmas tree or a convex snowman.

You can cut out individual cell bottoms and use them to form a snowman pyramid.

You don’t have to cut the cassette box at all and make a team of New Year’s reindeer with a sleigh for Santa Claus from a whole one.

Even one small cell can become a cute little New Year's craft - a tiny mingguin or a little deer.

And to make the little ones look like solid children’s work, they can be surrounded by decorations - winter surroundings. Christmas trees or ice floes, as is the case with penguins. Pieces of ice floes can be cut out of foamed plastic - such liners are in your winter boots, or they are used as pads when transporting fragile goods or technical devices. Or you can just go to a hardware store (or to the construction department of the market
a) and buy a meter of thick insulation for the walls there - it also has the same structure.

New Year's crafts

FROM PAPER FANS.

We can also make crafts from an easy-to-design material - round fans folded from paper. The simplest design is a Christmas tree. Here we stack the fans on top of each other in a festive pyramid - we get a Christmas tree with our own hands.

Here is a visual master class showing the general principle of creating all-round fans. The main thing is to take a VERY LONG strip - so that its length when folded like an accordion is enough to round it.

If you don’t have such a long strip, you can fold 2 separate strips and then glue them into one common long accordion-snake.

And by the way, if you make a pattern on such an accordion on its edges - and on its tips - then when you turn the fan into a round shape, we will get an openwork snowflake. You can also make an independent New Year's craft with your own hands.

Paper fans can be used as decorative elements in the construction of multi-layer Christmas tree applique toys made of paper.

And you can also use your imagination and invent original New Year's volumetric applications from such paper fans.

The simplest thing that you can quickly and easily do with your own hands is a Christmas wreath craft. Just a base ring made of cardboard and a bunch of decorative fans to decorate the donut base of the wreath.

These are the ideas you found for yourself and your children today. Now the matter remains small. Evaluate the materials available at home. And get to work.

Making a piece of a magical holiday with your own hands is already a small miracle. And the New Year's spirit of happiness consists of small miracles.

Let your hands create happiness. Happiness for the next New Year.

Crafts for school for the New Year

Magic jar

Surely you have seen souvenir balls with snow, inside of which there is an image, a figurine or an entire composition. With a little imagination you can easily make a similar “magic jar”.

You will need a jar with a screw cap, water, glycerin, glitter, scissors, glue, and a figurine of a suitable size.

  • Fill half a jar with water
  • Add glycerin, not adding a little to the top
  • Glue the bottom of the figure to the lid
  • Place glitter in a jar
  • Screw the lid on, you can secure it with glue

Important: If large air bubbles form in the jar after screwing the lid on, add some water or glycerin to the jar.

Disc pendant

Unnecessary CDs and DVDs are an excellent material for various crafts. For example, using the decoupage technique, you can make an original pendant that can be used as a wall decoration or hung on a Christmas tree.

You will need a disk, PVA glue, scissors, a napkin with a New Year's pattern, decorative glue (with glitter) - for decoration, ribbons or tinsel.

  • Separate the patterned layer from the napkin
  • Lubricate the disk with PVA glue
  • Stick a napkin
  • Use scissors to trim excess edges along the contours of the disc.
  • Wait for the glue to dry and cover with varnish or decorative glue
  • Glue decorations - tinsel along the contour, bow, loop

DIY New Year's crafts for kindergarten

Christmas tree

In order to make a three-dimensional Christmas tree you will need cardboard, colored paper, scissors, glue, tape, decorations

  • Fold a piece of cardboard in half and cut it
  • Place the halves together and bend in the middle
  • Starting from the fold, draw half of the Christmas tree

  • Cut out the workpiece. You should have 2 Christmas trees
  • Bend each tree in half
  • Make a cut in the center on one piece from above, on the other from below, without reaching the middle
  • Connect the parts
  • If you want a fluffy Christmas tree, take more sheets of cardboard

  • Decorate the Christmas tree. You can glue colored paper balls, use tinsel, or make a star. To decorate the Christmas tree, glitter, paint, colored paper, foil and other materials that you can find at home are suitable.
To keep the star on the tree, make a small cut in the paper blank and “plant” the star on the tree.
For reliability, secure the connections of the parts with tape.

Deer from prints

Prepare brown and yellow cardboard, scissors, glue, pencil or pen for tracing outlines for the craft.

  • Place the baby's foot on brown cardboard and trace the outline.
  • Trace the outlines of the handles on sheets of yellow cardboard.
  • Cut out the parts along the contour.
  • Glue the “palms” with your fingers up to the wide part of the “foot”.
  • Make eyes. To do this, you can use purchased pre-made eyes, you can cut them out of paper, draw them, or use a tablet blister and insert beads into the cells.

With only a little imagination, you can come up with a lot of compositions for the New Year from children's prints.

Pompom snowman

You will need cardboard, scissors, white knitting threads, colored paper, PVA glue.

  • First make 3 pompoms of different sizes. To do this, cut out circles of different sizes from cardboard (2 for each pompom). Make holes in the middle. Fold 2 circles together and wrap as many threads as possible. Cut the threads along the edges of the circles and tie them with thread between the circles. Remove the cardboard circles and the pompom is ready.

  • Now connect the pom poms using glue.
  • Cut out eyes from colored paper and glue them on.
  • You can tie a scarf made of ribbon or fabric to the snowman.
  • For a hat, you can use a cap, a thimble, or a blank you made yourself.

The ability to make pom-poms will open up a lot of scope for imagination, because you can make anything out of them. For example, this New Year's composition.

Crafts made from jute twine for the New Year

Herringbone

You will need a stem (skewer, wooden stick, wire or anything suitable that you can find around the house), a pot (shot glass, plastic cup, etc.), jute twine, cardboard, glue, coffee beans, decorations (eg , lace, tinsel), plaster.

  • Draw a circle on cardboard and divide it in half.
  • Cut out a semicircle and connect with joints. Secure the seam with tape. You should end up with a cone.
  • Place the cone on the cardboard and trace the outline to cut out a circle for the base of the desired size.
  • Make a trunk. Secure with tape at the top and bottom.
  • Coat the cone with glue and wrap tightly with jute.
  • Insert the barrel into the circle, coat the circle with glue and wrap it with jute.

  • Connect the cone and circle to the trunk.
  • Spread the pot with glue and wrap it with jute.
  • Now “plant” the Christmas tree. To do this, fill the pot with plaster, insert the Christmas tree and wait for it to dry (about half an hour).
  • Garnish with coffee beans and other decorations.

Bells

You will need plastic bottles, a plastic bag, glue, tape, jute twine, decorations, scissors.

  • Wrap the bottles with tape around the neck to remove any unevenness. The working surface must be flat.

  • Place plastic bags on top of the bottles.
  • Starting from the lid, coat the bottle with PVA glue and begin wrapping it with jute. Roll in a spiral pattern on the cap, then continue around the bottle.

  • Wait for the glue to dry.
  • Remove the bag of twine from the bottle, then remove it from the workpiece.

  • Decorate with different materials.

Paper quilling crafts for the New Year: patterns

Quilling is an amazing technique in which you can create entire three-dimensional compositions from strips of paper twisted into a spiral. This type of work requires perseverance, patience, and attentiveness. But the result will delight you and those around you with its tenderness and uniqueness.

So, for work you will need colored paper, scissors, PVA glue, various decorative elements (sparkles, beads, rhinestones, tinsel)

Christmas tree using quilling technique

  • Cut the paper into strips
  • Cut the edges of each strip
  • Using a toothpick, roll the strips and fluff them up
  • Glue the resulting rolls in the correct order onto the cardboard and decorate

If you master the quilling technique, then by folding paper in different ways, you can create both flat and three-dimensional crafts.

Crafts from salt dough for the New Year

Before you start making crafts, you should prepare your play dough. Knead it in the following proportions: 2 cups flour, 1 cup salt, 3/4 cup water.

Important: If your dough crumbles when kneading, add a little water, and if, on the contrary, it sticks too much to your hands, add flour.

Crafts most often require dough of different colors. You can add food coloring when kneading or make a craft first and then decorate it with paints.

Snowman

When making a snowman, you will need toothpicks and a garlic press, so prepare everything in advance.

  • Knead the dough, divide it into 2 parts and give one of them a blue or blue color using food coloring.
  • Make 2 cakes of different sizes - a head and a body.
  • Immediately work on the snowman's face. Label the parts of the face - eyes, eyebrows, mouth, nose.
  • Fashion the arms and legs and attach them to the body.
  • Make a triangle - a hat, and use a toothpick to make a design.
  • Make a scarf from a rectangular piece of dough, make a pattern with a toothpick, or you can make notches with a knife - you will get a scarf with fringe.
  • Make buttons from small balls of blue dough.

  • Start working on the broom. Insert a toothpick into one of the snowman's hands. Take a small portion of the dough and put it through a garlic press. Wrap the resulting sausages in a small sausage made of white dough. Attach the resulting broom to a toothpick.
  • Dry the finished snowman thoroughly. To make the craft last longer, coat it with acrylic varnish.

Snowflake

To make snowflakes with children you will need stacks and rhinestones or beads for decoration (optional).

  • Roll out many thin sausages of different lengths from the salt dough.
  • Take the sausage, roll both ends into a spiral and connect in places where the first bend of the spiral begins. Make 4 of these blanks of the same size.
  • Make 12 loops from the sausages. Without having the skills to work with dough, it is difficult to make identical loops. You can make loops of the desired size from long sausages, and then cut off the excess ends.
  • I will make a circle from a small sausage - the center of the snowflake.
  • Place the pieces together, attaching around the center. Decorate with beads and rhinestones.
  • Dry the craft and varnish.

From these sausages you can make snowflakes of different sizes, shapes and designs.

Crafts for the New Year from beads: diagrams

To work with beads, you should prepare the following: beads of different colors, glass beads, wire, fishing line, scissors. If you string beads on a thread, you will also need a thin needle. Please note that the thickness of the needle should allow you to thread the thread into the bead at least 2 times.

Important: When choosing what to string beads on, consider the following: wire products take and hold any given shape, but require careful handling. Crafts strung on a thread do not hold their shape, they are soft and pliable. Minutes is that the thread becomes dirty and can be worn out. Therefore, use nylon thread.

The fishing line gives durability to the product, but is unruly in taking and maintaining the desired shape.

Snowflakes

Snowflakes are a wonderful New Year's decoration. They can be used as a pendant, hung on a Christmas tree, hung on keys as a keychain, decorated with a gift or made part of a New Year's composition.

Simple snowflake with bugles

  • String 7 white beads and thread the end through the first one, forming a circle.
  • String 1 blue bead and pass the end through 5 beads of the first row.

  • Place 1 blue bugle bead and one white bead and thread the thread back into the bugle bead.
  • Bring the thread through the nearest white bead of the first row.

  • Repeat the above pattern until the second circle is completed.

  • Collect 2 blue, 1 white and 2 blue beads and pass the end through the last white bead of the adjacent ray.

  • Repeat until the circle is complete, passing the end through the first white bead.
  • String 1 blue bugle bead, 1 white bead and again 1 blue bugle bead and pass the end through the 6th (white) bead.

  • Repeat until the circle is complete and bring the end through the nearest glass bead and white bead.

  • String 6 blue beads and thread the end through the white bead from below, forming a loop.
  • Fix and secure the thread.

Complex snowflake

  • To make it you will need wire, short and long glass beads, and beads.

Weave according to the pattern:

  • At the end of weaving the ray, make 2 horns and secure the wire. For a snowflake you will need 6 of these blanks.

  • Use a separate piece of wire to connect the lower side glass beads of the 2 beams.
  • String 3 beads onto the wire, twist the wire, cut or hide the ends.
  • Connect all the rays in the same way.
  • To strengthen the product, make an inner circle by weaving one bead into each diamond at a separate end of the wire.

Schemes of snowflakes, photo

Wreath

You will need wire, yellow, red and green beads, green satin ribbon, pliers and wire cutters.

  • Wind the wire around a cup, shot glass or any round object to make a ring, you can simply wrap the wire around three fingers several times and then shape it into a ring.
  • Secure the ends.

  • Prepare 3 pieces of 45cm wire and twist the ends on one side.
  • String beads of a different color onto each wire so that it takes up 30 centimeters of the length of the wire.
  • Weave 3 wires with beads into a braid, twist the ends.

  • Wrap the braid around the ring of wire that you prepared at the beginning, connect the ends of both pieces, secure and cut off the excess with wire cutters.
  • Tie a ribbon.

Crafts for the New Year from pine cones

Christmas tree decorations

For crafts you will need a glue gun, paints, glitter, ribbons or wire, pine cones (it’s better if you stock them up in advance).

  • Paint the cones in different colors and hang them on the tree using a ribbon. You can decorate your apartment in a similar way.

Christmas toys made from pine cones

Decorating an apartment with pine cones for the New Year

  • String the cones on a ribbon or wire, decorate them and cover them with glitter - you will have a real garland.

You will need paint, cones, a disk, cardboard, a candle, glue, and, if desired, various decorations (tinsel, Christmas tree branches, beads).

  • Spread the disk with glue and glue the cones in a circle
  • Apply glitter
  • Decorate the craft
  • Place a candle in the center

  • If you don’t have the required number of cones on hand, don’t worry, you can make a candlestick from one cone.
  • Glue the disk to the top, having previously trimmed it. Instead of a disk, you can use caps or other available materials.
  • Try to make the craft stable.

New Year's wreath

You will need a lot of cones, glue, decorations. Use a cardboard circle as a base.

  • Spread the cardboard circle with glue and glue the cones in any order.
  • Decorate the wreath with tinsel; you can use spruce branches, rhinestones, and ribbons as decoration.

Little people

You will need glue, pinecones, felt, popsicle sticks, toothpicks, paint, wire.

  • Make preparations. Sew a head and a hat out of felt, you can also cut out arms and legs from felt and reinforce them with wire.
  • Glue the parts to the pine cone in the right places.
  • Paint the sticks and you will have skis. And the toothpicks will serve as ski poles.
